Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was kidnapped during an armed robbery at Clyde overnight.

About 11.50pm (Tuesday 21 August 2012), three men armed with a firearm entered a business on Wentworth Street, Clyde.

They threatened the three employees inside and tied them up before kidnapping one of the men and forcing him into their car.

He was released a short time later on the M7 at Cecil Hills.

An amount of cash was taken during the incident.

Police attended and established a crime scene which is currently being examined by the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

No one was injured during the incident.
