29 August 2012 – Armed Robbery – Convenience Store – Mermaid Beach

Police are investigating after a Mermaid Beach convenience store was robbed by two men, one armed with an axe.

Around 10.30pm last night two men entered the Gold Coast Highway store and confronted two store attendants, demanding money.

After receiving an amount of cash the two men left the store and were last seen heading towards Tamborine Street.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 177cm tall and of average build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, a red and white t-shirt and black and white boardshorts.

The second man is also described as Caucasion in appearance and 170cm tall. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and track suit pants.
