Police are investigating the armed robbery of a restaurant in Parramatta last night.

About 11.40pm Friday (28 September 2012), employees were working in the restaurant when a man entered holding an object staff thought to be a firearm.

The man ordered a female staff member to hand over money.

She complied and gave the man money before he fled on foot through a rear door onto a laneway.

The offender walked into another restaurant off the laneway before being confronted by four staff members.

No-one was injured in the incident. Police from Parramatta Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Specialist forensic officers attended and examined the scene.

At the time of the incident the offender was wearing a dark hooded jacket and blue pants. Witnesses told police his face was covered during the robbery.
