Just before 2.30pm, a man walked in to the Cheese Cake Shop on Main South Road and threatened staff before fleeing with a cash drawer.
The suspect claimed to have a gun but no weapon was sighted.
He is described as being Caucasian, about 30 years and wearing a black hooded top and blue denim jeans.
No one was physically injured.
