Investigations are underway following an armed robbery at Bankstown yesterday.

About 4.40pm (Monday 4 December 2017), police from Bankstown Local Area Command were called to a jewellery store on The Appian Way, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police were told four males, three armed with hammers and one with a knife, threatened staff before fleeing the store with jewellery.

Shortly afterwards the offenders stopped the driver of a SUV on Conway Road, Bankstown, where they threatened the occupants and took that vehicle.

The SUV was later recovered in Joseph Street at Lidcombe.

No-one was injured during the incidents.

Strike Force Poulet led by the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad are investigating these incidents.
