Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a petrol station in Wantirna South last night.
Investigators have been told that just before 8pm a man entered the High Street Road premises and demanded cash and cigarettes from the attendant.
The male offender was allegedly armed with a weapon believed to be a large iron bar.
The offender was given an amount of cash and cigarettes before he left the store and fled along High Street Road.
It is believed he then headed south down Cathies Lane.
The male offender is described as solid build, and was wearing a hooded jumper and sunglasses.
