Two males were charged and a third is recovering in hospital after allegedly being involved in two armed robberies this morning.

The first armed robbery occurred just after 3am (Tuesday 13 December 2011) at a bakery on Old South Head Road, North Bondi. Three males allegedly entered the business, forcing the employee to the ground. They left with his wallet and a sum of cash.

 The second armed robbery occurred at a convenience store about 4.30am (Tuesday 13 December 2011) in Ultimo Road, Haymarket. They were allegedly armed with a tyre iron and screw driver and stole cash, cigarettes and the clerk’s phone.

Three males were arrested about 30 minutes later in parklands in the Hillsdale/Matraville area following a foot pursuit and were taken to Maroubra Police Station.

 A 19-year-old from Matraville was charged with aggravated break and enter, robbery in company, robbery armed with an offensive weapon and be carried in conveyance without consent of owner. He was refused bail by police to Central Local Court today where he was granted conditional bail.

 A 16-year-old from Pagewood was charged with aggravated break and enter, two counts robbery in company and be carried in conveyance without consent of owner. He was refused bail to appear in Bidura Children’s Court tomorrow.

 A 16-year-old male from La Perouse had an arm injury prior to arrest and is currently under police guard at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick.
