Police investigating an armed robbery in the Hunter Valley have released a COMFIT image of the person responsible.

About 12pm on 13 March 2012, a man entered a travel agent on Cooper Street, Cessnock, and threatened a female staff member, demanding cash.

The man was handed an amount of cash and was last seen running along Charlton Street.

He has been described as Caucasian, 160cm tall, aged in his early forties, of a medium build, with a tanned/olive complexion, short black wavy hair, unshaven black facial hair, bushy black eye brows, and dark coloured eyes.

At the time he was wearing a jumper with orange horizontal stripes. He had his right hand in his pocket pointing an unknown weapon at the victim. He also had slurred speech.

In the hope of tracking down the offender, police have released a COMFIT image of the man alleged responsible.
