Police have arrested two people following investigations into the alleged attempted murder of a man in Bankstown earlier in the year.
About 9.20pm on Thursday 26 April 2012, a 24-year-old man attended a hotel on the Hume Highway in Bankstown.
A short time later, the man ran from the hotel after he was approached by three men. The trio chased the man in a westbound direction along the Hume Highway before catching him a short distance down the road.
The victim was then stabbed 11 times and left on the roadside.
Police and other emergency services were called to the scene, and the man was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
An investigation into the stabbing commenced and on Friday 27 April 2012, police arrested a 27-year-old Yagoona man. He was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and is currently before the courts.
About 5:30am today (Thursday 28 June 2012), Bankstown Detectives attended a house on Marion Street, Condell Park, where they conducted a search warrant and arrested a 30-year-old man
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to murder and refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
During the search warrant, police seized an amount of steroids.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act where he will receive a youth caution for possession of a restricted substance.
Investigations into the hotel stabbing are continuing.
