Two teenage boys have been charged following an alleged aggravated robbery at Birrong Railway Station last night.

About 11pm (Friday 31 May 2011), a 28-year-old man was waiting to catch a train when he was allegedly confronted by two males.

Police will allege the two males pushed the victim in the chest and demanded money. One of the males is also alleged to have threatened the victim with a knife.

The victim gave the males an amount of money, but they then allegedly chased him around the station, demanding his wallet.

The victim eventually escaped the railway station and called Triple Zero (000), while the two males caught a train. Police alerted CityRail staff, who stopped the train at Sefton Railway Station, where the two males were arrested.

Police subsequently charged the two males, aged 13 and 14, with robbery in company. They were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Children’s Court today (4 June).
