A man has been charged following an alleged robbery in Chippendale last week.

About 5.30am, Friday 3 June, a man allegedly armed with a stun gun went into a service station on Regent Street in Chippendale.

Police will allege he threatened an employee and stole an amount of cash.

After inquiries by Redfern Detectives, about 10.30pm yesterday (4 June) a 26-year-old man was arrested in Pyrmont.

He was taken to Redfern Police Station and charged with robbery armed with a dangerous weapon and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today via video link.
