17 September 2012 – Armed Robbery – Newsagency – Launceston

At 4.55pm on Saturday the 15th September 2012 Launceston police were called to an armed robbery at Wellington Street Newsagency in Launceston.

Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) conducted at search last night and arrested 41 year old male from South Launceston. He was later interviewed and charged with the armed robbery.

Detective Acting Inspector Higgins said it was a good result with assistance from members of the public, Launceston CIB and Uniform working together to resolve the robbery quickly.

He will appear in the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions at 2.15pm today.
