A crime scene has been established at a fast food restaurant in Auburn following an armed robbery.
Shortly after 8.30pm today (Friday 12 October 2012), four men entered the restaurant, on the corner of Parramatta Road and Duck Street, with their faces concealed and armed with a number of weapons.
The men threatened staff and patrons before jumping the counter and taking money from the registers.
They fled in a silver Honda Civic that was parked nearby and police were alerted.
No one was injured during the incident.
Officers from Flemington Local Area Command have established a crime scene and are conducting a canvass of the area with assistance from the Dog Unit.
The Honda was found abandoned near Lidcombe Oval a short time later – checks revealed the car was stolen from a couple at gunpoint in Strathfield on Wednesday and was also used in the armed robbery of a supermarket in Auburn on Thursday evening.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or any suspicious behaviour near the restaurant or Lidcombe Oval, to come forward.
