A man remains under sedation after being assaulted during a fight in Sydney’s east overnight.

About 11pm yesterday, a 36-year-old man was in a licensed premises on Maroubra Road, near the intersection of Anzac Parade at Maroubra.

An argument broke out between the 36-year-old and another man. The 36-year-old was asked to leave by staff.

About 12.45am, the 36-year-old and the man from the earlier argument got into a fight at a nearby shopping centre.

The 36-year-old man, who suffered head injuries in the fight, was found unconscious a short time later.. Emergency services were called and a crime scene was established.

He was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he remains sedated. The man’s injuries are not considered life threatening.
