Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Slade Point convenience store yesterday evening.
At around 9:24 pm an armed man entered the Finch Street store brandishing a knife and demanded cash.
As he attempted to flee on foot, the man was confronted by a 20-year-old Slade Point man, and hr dropped some of the cash.
Police investigations are continuing.
Northern District police are seeking information from the public after a service station was robbed last night at Salisbury.
Just after 10.30pm on Thursday 10 January, a man entered a service station on the Salisbury Highway and threatened the female console operator with a syringe before leaving with a small amount of cash. No one was physically injured.
The suspect who left on foot, is described as being a man of Aboriginal appearance, aged in his late 20’s, with short hair and carrying a backpack.
Police patrols searched the area including a police dog patrol, but the suspect wasn’t located.
An Elizabeth East man will appear in court today following an alleged armed robbery at Elizabeth Downs tavern last night.
Just after 9pm on Thursday 10 January, patrols were called to a hotel on Midway Road, after a man armed with a machete threatened staff in the bottle-shop and left with an amount of cash from the till. Thankfully no one was physically injured.
Patrols quickly converged on the area and located the suspect a short time later nearby on Seatown Road and identified from the CCTV security vision from the tavern.
The 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery he was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at an Elizabeth East supermarket a short time ago.
Just after 9pm on Sunday 6 January, a man wearing a balaclava entered the supermarket on Midway Road, Elizabeth East armed with a small knife and stole cash from the till.
Fortunately, no staff were injured during the robbery.
Police and Police Dog Ruger are searching the area for the suspect, who left on foot.
He is described as about 170 cm tall and wearing a high-vis shirt.
Police from the Serious Crime Taskforce arrested a Reservoir man in relation to armed robberies in Preston.
The 25-year-old was arrested in relation to two separate armed robberies at a Murray Rd service station, which occurred on October 23 and December 28.
The man is currently being interviewed by police.
A 23-year old woman was also arrested at the address for unrelated offences.
Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman robbed a convenience store in Northcote early this morning.
Police have been told a woman armed with a knife entered the store on Victoria Road about 3.30am.
She approached the attendant and made demands for cash before stealing the till containing an amount of money.
The offender then fled the scene and was last seen running on Separation Street.
She is described as Caucasian in appearance, 165cm tall with a medium build and was wearing a white beanie, blue jacket, track pants and black runners.
The victim was not injured.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone in the area at the time of the armed robbery.
Melbourne Embona detectives are investigating an armed robbery in North Melbourne last month.
Investigators have been told a man entered the Flemington Road hotel on 15 December about 9.45pm.
Once inside the foyer of the building, the man approached a female staff member at the counter and made demands for cash.
It is believed the man was in possession of a concealed weapon at the time however he did not produce it during the incident.
No one was injured and the man fled the scene on foot.
The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged 30 to 40-years-old and about 171cm tall with a shaved head.
He was wearing a grey jumper and track pants with white runners and a baseball cap on backwards.
Police have released CCTV and a computer generated image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
A 49 year old man from Claremont was arrested last night by police after he produced a knife and demanded money from staff at a McDonalds restaurant in Moonah.
The man was taken into custody at the restaurant without incident.
None of the staff or attending police were injured.
Detective Inspector Craig Joel said: ‘Anyone who may have saw a white Holden Commodore parked in Maxwell Street in Moonah at 10.30 pm on Saturday night, or the occupant of that vehicle, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
Detective Inspector Joel said: ‘The man was interviewed by Detectives late last night and he was charged with armed robbery. He will appear in an out of court session in the Hobart Magistrate’s Court this morning.
A 20-year-old Clarendon Vale man has been charged in relation to an armed robbery that occurred at the Big Bargain Bottleshop at Howrah on the morning of 29 December.
The firearm used during the robbery was recovered during the investigation.
Enquiries are continuing as to the identity of a second person who was riding a smaller capacity road bike that had light coloured front forks and very little fairings. He was wearing dark clothing and a full-faced helmet.
The two offenders left on the motorcycle travelling in the Rokeby direction. The motorcycle is yet to be located.
Police are particularly interested to hear from members of the public with any observations or footage of any similar motorcycles in the Clarendon Vale, Rokeby, Glebe Hill and Howrah areas around the time of the incident.
A woman has been charged over several armed robberies in Queanbeyan.
Detectives from Monaro Police District established Strike Force Brays to investigate three armed robberies allegedly committed at a convenience store in Donald Road, Karabar, on Saturday 15 December 2018, Sunday 30 December 2018, and Friday 4 January 2019.
Police will allege on each occasion a woman armed with a knife threatened the employee before stealing cash and cigarettes.
Following inquiries, about 1.15pm today (Wednesday 9 January 2019), police executed a search warrant at a home on Southbar Road.
During the search, police located and seized a knife, cigarettes and clothing items.
A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the home.
She was taken to Queanbeyan Police Station and charged with three counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
The Queanbeyan woman was refused bail to appear at Cooma Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 10 January 2019).
