Detectives have released CCTV as inquiries continue into a robbery at a bank in Marrickville yesterday.

About 3.45pm (Thursday 21 February 2019), a man entered the bank on Marrickville Road and approached a teller.

The man originally requested to set up a bank account; however, stole a sum of cash from another staff member before fleeing.

It’s unknown what direction the man ran in.

The man was not armed, and no one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV footage in an attempt to identify and locate the man involved.

The man in the footage is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 180cm tall with short dark hair.

He is depicted wearing a black t-shirt with white print, dark shorts and thongs.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

A man has been charged after two recent alleged armed robberies on the NSW mid north coast.

Police will allege about 5.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 February 2019), a 21-year-old man got into a taxi outside a service station on the Pacific Highway, South Kempsey, and directed the driver to Leith Street, West Kempsey.

Upon arriving at the location, the man threatened the 68-year-old male driver with a knife, before taking cash and fleeing on foot.

The driver attended Kempsey Police Station and reported the matter to officers from Mid North Coast Police District.

About 10.35am today, a 73-year-old man was returning to his vehicle in the underground carpark of a supermarket on Smith Street, Kempsey, when a 21-year-old man approached him and threatened him with a knife.

The younger man took the older man’s keys and an amount of cash, before entering the vehicle and driving away.

Following inquiries, shortly after 10.40am, police attended a home on Tozer Street, West Kempsey, where they arrested the 21-year-old Queensland man, and he was taken to Kempsey Police Station.

He was charged with robbery while armed with offensive weapon (x2), and aggravated take and drive conveyance while armed.

He was refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court tomorrow (Friday 1 March 2019).

Detectives are investigating the robbery of a bottle shop at Mackay yesterday afternoon.

At 3.30pm, a man has entered the Evans Street store before approaching the counter and presenting a knife.

The man was demanded money from the 22-year-old female employee prior to leaving the store.

The man can be described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 50-years-old with grey stubble and he was wearing black sunglasses, a dark coloured sleeveless hoodie. He was also wearing dark blue shorts with a white thin stripe and white runners and holding a grey backpack. The male has been observed riding a push bike along Evans Street to and from the offence location.

Police are seeking dash cam vision from members of the public who may have been in the area.

No one was physically injured during this incident.

Detectives are investigating following the armed robbery of a service station in Aratula early this morning.

Just after 3am a man armed with a piece of wood entered the business on the Cunningham Highway.

The man demanded money from a staff member before fleeing the store on foot with a sum of cash.

Preliminary information indicates the man then entered a nearby vehicle and left the scene.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, medium build and wearing light coloured shorts and a black t-shirt covering an orange high-vis polo shirt.

If 

Police investigating robbery last month at Para Hills have released images of the suspect.

Just after 9am on Saturday 26 January, the suspect entered the United Chemist on Bridge Road and handed the staff member note containing threats and demands.

The suspect then went behind the counter and stole a quantity of medication before leaving. No one was physically injured.

Police have released CCTV footage of a robbery which occurred at Gepps Cross last week.

Just before 11.30pm on Thursday 14 February, two men entered the drive-in on Main North Road and approached a staff member in the ticket box and demanded cash. No weapons were sighted and the pair left with an amount of cash in a dark coloured vehicle, possibly a Commodore.

His accomplice is described as being Caucasian, also aged in his 30’s, medium build, about 170cm tall with a cloth partially covering his face. He was wearing a light coloured long sleeve hooded jumper and black shorts.u

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager with a string of offences following a series of robberies across Melbourne’s east and west over the past month.

It’s alleged the unlicensed 17-year-old stole a vehicle, cash and other items after committing a burglary at a residence in Delahey on 10 February.

The teenager allegedly then committed robberies at service stations in Sunbury on 13 February, Truganina on 14 February, Bundoora and Preston on 15 February, Thomastown on the 17 February; a supermarket at Docklands on 18 February and another service station in Truganina on 19 February.

Police arrested the teen yesterday on Grant Street, St Albans about 5.20pm.

Detectives charged the teen with 16 charges including armed robbery, robbery, theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, theft, committing an indictable offence while on bail and traffic offences.

The Wyndham Vale boy was remanded to appear at a Children’s Court later today.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information following a brazen armed robbery at a Melton gaming venue last year.

Detectives have released CCTV vision of the wanted man, who was armed with what is believed to be a 20 to 30cm knife, jump over the counter-top of the High Street venue on Tuesday 27 November about 3pm.

The man spoke to a nearby attendant simply stating that he was taking the till, before making off with an amount of cash.

Investigators believe the man ran from the venue, leaving the same way he entered, via Smith Street.

He was last seen running into McKenzie Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigators have also released still images of the man who can be described as Caucasian in appearance, aged about 30 to 40 years-old with a medium build.

The man is believed to have a tattoo inked on the outside of his left calf, which is visible in the footage.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a white cap inscribed with black writing, sunglasses, a bandana or similar to cover his face, a black hooded jumper, blue shorts and grey and green runners.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man or with information about the incident to come forward.

Wellington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a Rosedale service station earlier this month.

Investigators have been told two unknown offenders attended the Princes Highway service station about 7am on 10 February.

The pair threatened the attendant with handguns.

They then fled the scene on foot to Latrobe Street when they got into two separate vehicles.

The vehicles were a small white hatchback and a small red hatchback.

Detectives have released CCTV images of two persons of interest (with their cars), who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police have released CCTV of the moment an inner-city hotel was robbed at knifepoint last month.

About 9.10pm on Thursday 31 January 2019, a man who had his face concealed jumped the counter of the Hotel on Botany Road.

The man, who was armed with a knife, threatened a worker and demanded cash.

At the time, there were several other staff and customers present.

The worker opened the cash registers and the armed man fled with cash a short time later.

No one was injured.

As investigations continue, police would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV.

He is described as being of Maori/Pacific Islander appearance, with a solid build; and is shown wearing a long-sleeved khaki jacket, dark long pants, black shoes, with a yellow jumper partially concealing his face.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who may have captured dashcam vision of the man fleeing, to come forward.
