Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have released a CCTV image of a man they are searching for following an armed robbery at a Werribee gaming venue last week.

The man entered the venue via a Werribee Street North entrance about 9.30pm on Sunday, 31 March.

He was armed with a firearm and wearing an open-faced balaclava.

The man approached a staff member and made a demand for cash, threatening them with the firearm.

The cashier gave the man a quantity of money and he left the premises via the same entry point.

He was last seen getting into a white, older model sedan that was parked in a neighbouring street.

No one at the venue was physically injured during the incident.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating and have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

They are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise him or have further knowledge of the armed robbery.

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have dash cam vision of the man and the white vehicle to come forward.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information following a brazen armed robbery at a Melton gaming venue last year.

Detectives have released CCTV vision of the wanted man, who was armed with what is believed to be a 20 to 30cm knife, jump over the counter-top of the High Street venue on Tuesday 27 November about 3pm.

The man spoke to a nearby attendant simply stating that he was taking the till, before making off with an amount of cash.

Investigators believe the man ran from the venue, leaving the same way he entered, via Smith Street.

He was last seen running into McKenzie Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigators have also released still images of the man who can be described as Caucasian in appearance, aged about 30 to 40 years-old with a medium build.

The man is believed to have a tattoo inked on the outside of his left calf, which is visible in the footage.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a white cap inscribed with black writing, sunglasses, a bandana or similar to cover his face, a black hooded jumper, blue shorts and grey and green runners.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man or with information about the incident to come forward.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in Sunshine North earlier this month.

Investigators have been told a man entered a gaming venue on McIntyre Road about 10.25pm on Friday 1 February.

The man perused the form guide for a short time before he approached a staff member and produced a firearm, making demands for money.

The staff member screamed for assistance and the offender the fled the venue empty handed.

No one was injured during the incident.

The offender is described as a young male, perceived to be of Asian appearance, about 170cm tall with a thin build.

Detectives are today releasing CCTV from the incident in the hope someone is able to identify the man involved.

Armed Crime Squad investigators have charged a man and woman following a spate of armed robberies across Melbourne’s northwest.

The alleged incidents took place over a number of years and included:

– an armed robbery at a Tottenham liquor store in April 2014;

– armed robbery at a gaming venue in St Albans in June 2015;

– armed robbery at a post office in Deer Park in June 2018;

– armed robbery at a sporting club in Kings Park in November 2018;

– and an attempted armed robbery at a gaming venue in St Albans in November 2018.

Detectives executed warrants at separate addresses in Kings Park and Albanvale yesterday (30 January), where they allegedly seized items including imitation firearms, clothing, mobile phones, cannabis plants and a vehicle.

As a result, a 34-year-old Kings Park man was arrested and charged with a number of offences, including armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, recklessly cause injury, assault with weapon and firearm-related offences.

A 39-year-old Albanvale woman has been charged with armed robbery, theft, traffic drug of dependence (methamphetamine) and cultivate cannabis.

Both have been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a gaming venue in Sebastopol overnight.

The incident happened at a bowling club on Albert Street when two armed men entered the gaming room just before midnight.

One man stood watch over the security guard while the second man walked behind a counter and grabbed an amount of money from the cash drawers.

Both men ran from the premises before police arrived.

Although the offenders threatened staff no one was injured.

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after an attempted armed robbery at Lakemba last month.

About 8pm on Thursday 9 August 2018, a man entered a betting agency on Haldon Street, holding a suspicious package.

The man approached a female employee and handed her a hand-written note.

The employee activated an alarm and the man fled.

An investigation into the incident was launched and detectives have now released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s, 180cm tall, of a medium build, and with a beard.

He is depicted in the image wearing a dark-coloured jacket, denim jeans, black shoes, a cap and black sunglasses.

The man was last seen walking towards Croydon Street.

Police have released CCTV footage from an aggravated robbery at Walkerville in March and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Just after 12.30am, Friday 9 March, two men entered a Walkerville Terrace gaming room and threatened staff and patrons with a knife before running off with cash. No one was physically injured during the robbery. They were last seen running south on Stephens Terrace.

Both suspects are described as men wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves. One man was wearing maroon coloured shoes.

Fawkner police are appealing for information after a man was left with bruises, cuts and broken ribs when he was fleeced of his winnings in Glenroy last month.

The 68-year-old victim was outside a betting shop on Pascoe Vale Road when he was approached by a woman who asked him for money on Saturday 10 March about 5.50pm.

The man told the woman he didn’t give money to strangers before she snatched his recent winnings from his hand and fled.

He followed the woman down a mall and into Morgan Court where she jumped into a car, with a man and woman already inside.

In an attempt to get his money back the man struggled with the woman as the car reversed, hitting him and throwing him off the vehicle.

The car, which sped off and was bearing stolen plates, has been recovered by police.

Police are actively making enquiries into the identities of the man and woman who were already in the car however are appealing for information to identify the woman who stole the cash.

An image has been released of the woman who is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build, dark brown hair and is believed aged in her 20s.

 

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Walkerville this morning.

Just after 12.30am, Friday 9 March, two men entered a Walkerville Terrace gaming room and threatened staff and patrons with a knife before running off with cash. No one was physically injured during the robbery.

Both suspects are described as men wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves. They were last seen south on Stephens Terrace.

Patrols cordon off the area and Police Dog Havoc attended and searched the area but could not locate anyone.

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s inner-west.

About 8.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 January 2018), a man entered a betting agency on Ramsey Street, Haberfield, and threatened staff with an unknown object that he was holding under his shirt.

The 64-year-old female staff member handed the man an amount of cash before he left the store and drove from the scene in a dark coloured sedan.

There was one patron in the store at the time who was also uninjured.

Police from Burwood Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The offender has been described as Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern appearance, aged in his 30s, average height, stocky build, short black spikey hair, olive skin, and he was wearing a white jumper with red patterns on each sleeve.

He also had a yellow high-visibility shirt under his jumper and black shorts.

Inquiries into the incident continue.
