Crimes related to Convenience Stores

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Zillmere early this morning.

At around 2:15am a man entered the business on Handford Road armed with a handgun.

The man demanded money from a male staff member before fleeing the scene in the company of a second man, who had been waiting outside the store while the robbery occurred.

The two men were last seen running north along Hanford Road.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

One of the men is described as approximately 180cm tall and wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and jeans.

The other man is described as being approximately 170cm tall, of a solid build and wearing a dark hoodie with cream shorts.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Police have charged a 28-year-old man following the alleged armed robbery of a convenience store at Cotton Tree on Sunday night.

It will be alleged around 7.30pm a man threatened an employee with a knife before stealing a sum of cash from the till.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 28-year-old man was today arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery.

He is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Around 6.15pm, a man entered the Richmond Road store and threatened the assistant with a pocket knife.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Woodridge this afternoon.

Just after 5pm a group of four teenagers, one of whom was armed with a knife, entered the business on Smith Road.

The group demanded money from a male staff member before leaving with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes.

The teenagers  fled the scene in a black Holden HSV, which had been reported stolen from Marsden and had also been sighted in Algester this afternoon.

The male staff member received minor bruising during the robbery.

The vehicle is described as a black 2003 Holden HSV Clubsport (similar to pictured) with Queensland registration 276-TKU.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Police are investigating after a convenience store was robbed in springwood overnight.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at 7.45pm a man entered the Watland Street business and threatened the female staff member.

He demanded cash and the staff member complied. The man was last seen running west along Watland Street.

The man is described as slim build about 183cm tall and wearing dark clothing.

Police are appealing for anyone with further information to contact police.

Maryborough detectives investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Torquay yesterday afternoon have released images of a man who may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

At around 3:30pm a man entered the business on Cypress Street carrying a metal bar.

The man demanded cash from a male staff member, who refused, before the man fled the location in a white older-model Toyota Hilux utility.

No one was physically injured during the attempted robbery.

The man (pictured) is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 30-40 years of age, of a medium build with short brown hair and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket with white stripes down the front, camouflage knee-length shorts and dark sunglasses.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

A man has been charged following investigations into the armed robbery of a convenience store in Fortitude Valley earlier this month.

It will be alleged around 2.20am on Thursday, August 2 the man entered the business on Ann Street and threatened an employee with a weapon resembling an electric conductive device before demanding money.

The attendant complied, and the man allegedly fled the shop carrying the till tray which contained a sum of cash.

A 37-year-old Southport man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and remanded in custody.

He is expected to reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 28.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in Manoora this morning.

At about 11.30am, a man entered a business on Reservoir Road and demanded money whilst threatening a staff member with a knife.

The man fled the scene a short time later in a northerly direction with a quantity of cash and a customer’s wallet which had been placed on the counter by a customer.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man after shots were allegedly fired during an armed robbery in Ardeer in May.

Investigators executed search warrants at an Olivia Rise address in Tarneit and a Concorde Crescent factory in Werribee about 10.45am today.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the Tarneit address.

A firearm was seized after it was allegedly located at the Werribee factory.

The man was presented to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening charged with armed robbery, prohibited person possess firearm, use firearm with reckless disregard for any person, reckless conduct endangering life, possess cartridge ammunition, possess drug of dependence and use number plates not issued to vehicle.

He has been remanded to appear at the same court tomorrow.

The charges relate to an alleged armed robbery at a Maxweld Street convenience store about 4.40pm on 20 May.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a man who may have information relevant to an investigation into a convenience store robbery two months ago.

About 8.30am on Friday 8 June 2018, a man entered a convenience store on Cowper Road, Glebe, and threatened the staff member with a firearm, demanding cash.

The man stole cash before running from the store toward Wentworth Park.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Irandra to investigate the robbery.

As investigations continue, Strike Force Irandra detectives have released CCTV footage of a man, who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with a large build, short black hair and a faint moustache.

He is wearing a dark-coloured hooded jacket, with a large white logo on the front; dark black pants, and black shoes. He is carrying a red duffel bag with black handles and straps.

Strike force detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man or has information relevant to the investigation to contact police.
