Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a bottle shop near Wollongong earlier this year have released CCTV images of men they believe may be able to assist them with inquiries.
About 8.20pm on Monday 12 May 2014, two attendants, a 43-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were at the counter of a bottle store on Popes Road, Woonona, when two people with their faces covered approached the counter.
They threatened the attendants with a knife demanding money. The employees complied and handed over cash. The armed men then fled on foot with the cash.
Police were contacted and officers from Wollongong Local Area Command commenced an investigation.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Following inquiries, police have released an image of two men who may be able to assist them with their investigation.
Both men are described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged in their early 20s.
Both men are shown wearing distinctive hooded jumpers; one being a dark grey hooded jumper with a white “Ralph Lauren Polo” motif on his left chest and the number “3” on the right upper arm.
The other man is wearing a dark blue hooded jumper with a motif (possibly the Gold Coast Titans NRL team) on the left chest and the number “2” on the upper right arm and on the back.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with any information surrounding the incident to come forward.
Sturt Police have arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery of an Underdale liquor store earlier this week.
At about 2.30pm on Monday 22 September, a man entered a store on Holbrooks Road and threatened staff with a knife before running off with an amount of cash. He was seen getting into a waiting vehicle where another person drove the pair away.
There were no physical injuries.
Sturt CIB detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at about 2.40am on Tuesday 23 September. He was charged with aggravated robbery and fail to truthfully answer questions pertaining to the driver of his vehicle in connection with the robbery.
The arrested man, who is of no fixed address, was refused police bail and attended the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
Detectives are still looking for his accomplice.
The location of the green 2004 Ford Falcon sedan, registration S175AUH, is still unknown and police ask anyone with information about the vehicle’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The suspect who threatened staff is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, wearing a grey hooded jumper with two black stripes on both sleeves and a number ‘6’ on the top breast pocket. He is also wearing tracksuit pants with the word ‘Everlast’ along the side.
There is no description of the driver.
Police are seeking the assistance of the public to locate a green 2004 Ford Falcon sedan with registration S175AUH.

Four people have been charged following investigations into three armed robberies at businesses in Townsville over the weekend.
It will be alleged around 2.20am on Saturday, staff at a service station on Charters Towers Road at Hermit Park were threatened by a man with a knife before cash was stolen.
Around 9.30pm on the same day, two men allegedly threatened an employee with a knife at a service station on Ross River Road at Cranbrook. They allegedly fled the scene with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.
It will further be alleged a knife was used during an armed robbery at a bottle shop on Railway Avenue at Railway Estate around 4pm yesterday. A sum of cash and a quantity of alcohol was allegedly stolen during the incident.
Around 5.30pm police located a vehicle at the intersection of Ninth Street and Tenth Avenue at Railway Estate after it had allegedly failed to stop for police at Hermit Park a short time earlier. Officers arrested four people nearby.
An 18-year-old Hermit Park man was charged with two counts each of armed robbery and possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop and driving without a licence.
An 18-year-old Hermit Park man was charged with three counts of armed robbery.
A 17-year-old Kelso man was charged with one count of armed robbery.
The three men are due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
A 16-year-old Douglas girl has been charged with one count of armed robbery and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1994.
Police are appealing for information as they investigate the armed robbery of a bottle shop at Leichhardt last night.
About 8:40pm, Saturday 30 August 2014, a man armed with a knife entered the bottle shop on Catherine Street and approached the counter.
He threatened a male employee and was handed cash from the register before stealing the wallet of another man who also working in the store.
The armed man then ran off and was seen to get into a 1990s model white Holden Commodore which was being driven by another man.
Police from Leichhardt Local Area Command were called to the bottle shop and established a crime scene. No one was injured during the robbery.
Detectives are continuing their investigations and are looking for a man who has been described as being 188cm tall with a solid build.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark pants, white joggers and had his face covered by a dark-coloured t-shirt.
Police will allege the two men threatened staff at a bottle shop and stole items from the store.
A 22-year-old Davoren Park man was charged with aggravated robbery, theft, breach of bail and hindering police. He was refused bail.
A 22-year-old Parafield Gardens man was charged with aggravated robbery and traffic offences, after he was stopped by police at a driver testing station.
He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store at Padstow, in Sydney’s south west.
About 5.45pm yesterday (Sunday 24 August 2014), a man entered the store on Padstow Parade armed with a firearm.
The man, who had a blue bandanna covering his face, approached the attendant – 23-year-old man – and demanded money.
He fled with cash and police were alerted.
Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene that was examined by forensic officers.
A canvass of the area was conducted with assistance from the Dog Unit.
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the man involved.
He’s described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, approximately 175cm tall and with an average build. The man was wearing a black hooded-jumper over a white t-shirt.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or may know the identity of the man involved.

After taking money from the register, one of the men took a bottle of spirits and a six-pack of cans, before both men fled the scene in a white VS Holden Commodore sedan.
The vehicle was last seen westbound on Murrawal Avenue.
No one was injured during the robbery.

Earlier today Sturt Police attended an armed robbery at a liquor store at West Richmond.
Just before 2.30pm, a man armed with a handgun threatened staff at a BWS Liquor shop on Marion Road at West Richmond.
The man fled with a small amount of cash and four bottles of liquor, leaving the area in a white van.
The suspect is described as Caucasian between 20-30-years of age, wearing a bright yellow fluoro vest and dark hooded top.

A man has been arrested for five counts of aggravated robbery following a crimes series last week.
On Wednesday evening 6 August, the man allegedly robbed two video outlets at Para Vista and Fairview Park, a beauty salon at Ridgehaven and a liquor shop at Parafield Gardens.
The man has also been arrested over an aggravated robbery on a Para Hills service station on Tuesday 5 August.
The 34-year-old man from Elizabeth was arrested this afternoon by Detectives from Holden Hill and Elizabeth CIB who formed Operation Mitre investigating the series of robberies.
The man is being charged with five counts of aggravated robbery and will be remanded in custody to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
