ACT Policing Criminal Investigations detectives have arrested a 27-year-old Dunlop man for assisting in the aggravated robbery at the Kaleen Caltex service station on August 24.

Around 4pm yesterday (September 13), police executed a search warrant at a house in Macgregor. The information to obtain this warrant came via an anonymous member of the community contacting Crime Stoppers.

During the warrant, information was obtained that the items officers were attempting to locate were at a house in Scullin.

Officers travelled to the Scullin house, and a search was conducted. During the search, police located and seized a number of clothing items.

Detective Superintendent Brett McCann from Criminal Investigations said that the two arrests relating to the aggravated robbery was a result of the police and the community working together to achieve one outcome.

“The end result of two people being arrested for the aggravated robbery clearly demonstrates that the relationship between police and the community is strong.

“These arrests took place due to information provided to Crime Stoppers. It demonstrates that if police are given leads and information, then officers will make enquiries which can lead to an arrest. A telephone call or email to Crime Stoppers can make a difference between an arrest and an unsolved crime,” Detective Superintendent McCann said.

The 27-year-old man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with aiding and abetting an aggravated robbery.
