Police are investigating a break-in and the attempt theft of an ATM at a chemist in Moana this morning. At about 3.10am, police were called to a chemist on Babbacombe Drive following multiple alarm activations. On arrival, police discovered the front glass of the chemist was smashed and the ATM significantly damaged and the money stolen. After viewing the store’s CCTV, it appears two men smashed the glass doors, one man went inside and tied a chain around the ATM and attached it to a black utility. The utility then drove off, pulling the ATM from the wall causing it to break apart and making the cash accessible. The utility stopped and both men helped themselves to the cash before driving off. The ute is described as black, with a silver/chrome roll bar. Police are investigating possible links to a similar incident which happened at the Mount Compass Tavern at about 3am, Wednesday 26 February. – See more at: http://www.sapolicenews.com.au/more-news/22310-chemist-break-in-and-attempt-atm-theft-moana.html#sthash.2tFDU2cs.dpuf
