25 October 2018 – Arrests – Armed Robbery – Shopping Centre – Maroochydore

Police have charged two people following an armed robbery at a shopping centre in Maroochydore overnight.
At around 8:20pm a woman was approached by a group of people as she approached her vehicle in the car park of the shopping centre on Horton Parade.
It will be alleged a woman produced a knife and sprayed the car owner in the face with a can of deodorant, before stealing the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Officers responded and located the car on Plaza Parade a short time later.
A 20-year-old Bli Bli woman and an 18-year-old Bli Bli woman have both been charged with armed robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence.
They are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
22 October 2018 – Update – Arrest – Armed Robbery – Service Station – Meridan Plains
Published October 25, 2018 | Detectives have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a Meridan Plains service station and another attempted armed robbery in Caloundra over the weekend.
It is alleged that shortly before 8pm on October 20 a man entered a service station on Parklands Boulevard and produced a weapon similar to a taser before demanding a female staff member hand over cash from the till.
The staff member compiled with the man’s demands before he allegedly stole a wallet from one of two customers inside at the time.
He then fled the business on foot.
It is further alleged that at about 12.10am on October 21, a business owner was confronted by a man holding a weapon similar to a taser as he left work on Mayes Avenue.
The man then allegedly assaulted the victim, striking him on the head, and demanded he hand over cash, before the victim fled the scene.
No property was taken during the alleged incident.
Ongoing investigations resulted in Sunshine Coast police today arresting a 31-year-old Tanawha man.
He has been charged with two counts each of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (October 23).
21 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Service Station – Meridian Plains
Published October 25, 2018 | Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Meridian Plains overnight have released CCTV images and footage of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Shortly before 8pm a man entered the business on Parklands Boulevard and produced a conducted energy weapon before demanding a female staff member hand over cash from the till.
The staff member compiled with the man’s demands before he stole the wallet from one of two customers inside at the time.
He then fled the business on foot.
The female staff member and two customers were not physically injured during the robbery.
The armed man is described as Caucasian, with a tanned complexion, proportionate build, blue eyes and a black ink tattoo on the top of his left hand.
He was last seen wearing a black long hoodie with white emblem on the left side of his chest and white writing down the right arm sleeve.
Investigations are continuing.
20 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Pharmacy – Caloundra
Published October 25, 2018 | Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a pharmacy in Caloundra yesterday afternoon, have charged a man.
Around 5.15pm, it will be alleged a man entered the business on Mayes Avenue and produced a knife before demanding medication from a male staff member.
It will further be alleged the staff member compiled with the man’s demands before the man fled the business on foot.
A 42-year-old Kings Beach man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and seven counts of fraud.
He is scheduled to appear before the Maroochydore magistrates Court today.
15 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Bottle Shop – Nambour
Published October 18, 2018 | Police investigating the armed robbery of a drive through bottle shop in Nambour on Saturday have released CCTV.
Around 5.30pm on October 13, a man approached the counter of the shop via the Short Street entrance and produced a large knife.
He demanded money and the 28-year-old female attendant complied before the man left the bottle shop on foot towards Short Street, with a sum of cash.
Officers believe the man depicted in the vision may be able to assist with investigations into the incident.
He is described as Caucasian with a pale complexion, clean shaven with dark sideburns.
The man was wearing a black shiny jacket, a black shirt and grey and green patterned long pants.
15 October 2018 – Update – Appeal – CCTV Released – Armed Robbery – Petrol Station – Durack
Published October 18, 2018 | Investigations are continuing into an armed robbery at Durack on Saturday October 13.
About 8.30pm, a man armed with a knife entered a petrol station on Inala Avenue and demanded cash from a 28-year-old female employee. The man fled the scene a short time later with a quantity of cash, heading north along Blunder Road.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Detectives have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist the investigation.
15 October 2018 – Update – Appeal – CCTV Released – Armed Robbery – Supermarket – Darra
Published October 18, 2018 | Detectives investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Darra supermarket last week have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with over the incident.
Around 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 9 the man entered the Monier Road store carrying a machete.
At the time several employees who observed the man enter the store were able lock themselves in a store room.
The armed man attempted to access the locked room however was unsuccessful and fled a short time after.
Investigators have released CCTV images of a man described as being approximately between 180-190cm tall, with a dark complexion, sold build, wearing dark boots, dark long pants, orange hi-vis jacket with a hoodie and carrying a machete.
13 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Petrol Station – Durack
Published October 18, 2018 | Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Durack this evening.
At about 8.30pm, a man armed with a knife entered a petrol station on Inala Avenue and demanded cash from a staff member.
The man fled the scene a short time later with a quantity of cash north along Blunder Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
13 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – Logan Central
Published October 18, 2018 | Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Logan Central this morning.
At around 8.15am a woman parked her vehicle in the carpark of a fast food restaurant at the intersection of Wembley Road and Leichardt Street when a man entered her vehicle.
The man produced a knife and demanded the woman’s handbag before taking her purse and fleeing the scene on foot.
He was last seen walking west along Leichardt Street.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, is approximately 183cm tall, of a slim build with short grey hair and green or blue eyes.
Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with investigations. Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

13 October 2018 – Armed Robbery – Business Premises – Nerang
Published October 18, 2018 | Police are investigating after a convenience store was robbed by two men armed with a machete in Nerang this morning.
At around 4.30am the men entered the shop on Price Street, one of them standing at the door while the other approached a 21-year-old male store attendant, produced a machete and demanded money.
The attendant went behind the counter while the man brought a large black bag for him to put cash and cigarettes into.
The two men then fled the scene with the bag containing money and cigarettes.
The men are described as aged between 17 and 25-years-old, one of them wearing a camouflage hooded jumper, black knee-length shorts, black and white sneakers and was holding an umbrella.
The second man was wearing a light grey hooded jumper with “Everlast” written in large black letters down the right hand side, black shorts and was carrying a machete.
Anyone who may have further information is urged to contact police.
