Police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s west last night.

Just before 9.30pm (Saturday 13 February 2016), two armed men entered a fast food restaurant on Banks Drive, St Clair.

Police have been told one of the men armed with a metal object demanded money from a female employee, before hitting her.

Both men left the scene empty handed.

They were last seen running on St Clair Avenue.

The female employee was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment for a minor head wound.

Officers from St Marys Local Area Command were contacted and commenced an investigation into the incident.

A crime scene was established and an extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted. No one was located.

Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Both men are described as being of being of thin to medium build, wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

A woman has been charged following an attempted armed robbery at a fast food shop at Mermaid Waters this evening.

It will be alleged just after 8pm a women entered the Karbunya Street business whilst wearing a mask and produced a knife demanding money from staff.

A second staff member used a sign to push the woman out of the store. She rode off on a bicycle empty handed.

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

A woman was detained by members of the public a short distance away until police arrived.

A 30-year-old Mermaid Waters woman has been charged with attempted armed robbery and is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on December 28.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Paralowie pizza shop where a staff member was threatened with a knife.

At about 2.20am, a man entered the Salisbury Pizza Kitchen on Waterloo Corner Road and demanded cash, while a second man waited outside the front door.

Cash and a laptop computer were stolen, and the female staff member was not injured.

The suspect who entered the store is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s with a tattoo on his left arm, and was wearing a white singlet and shorts.

The other suspect was also aged in his late 20s, Caucasian appearance, and was wearing a jumper and shorts.

Police have charged a 45-year-old Newmarket man after investigations into an armed robbery at a fast food outlet in Newmarket yesterday evening.

It will be alleged that 9.45pm a man entered the Enoggera Road premises made threats, alluded to being armed with a weapon, and demanded cash.

The 45-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Around 5.15am a man armed with a knife entered the Brookes Street café and made demands for cash. A female staff member complied and the man fled the store on foot with an amount of money.

Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery near Newcastle yesterday.

About 8.30pm (Sunday 29 November 2015), a man entered a fast food restaurant on Main Road, Edgeworth, and jumped the counter.

The man appeared to be holding a gym bag with a firearm inside it. He threatened staff and demanded cash.

He was given cash before he fled the scene, and was last seen running west on Main Road.

The man has been described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s, about 180cm tall, with blue eyes, and he was wearing a black face covering over his mouth and a black hooded jumper with green writing on the front and long black pants.

Detectives from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Sunshine Coast Detectives have charged a 30-year-old man with five alleged armed robberies that occurred between 2013-2014 in the Sunshine Coast area.

Investigations led police to South Australia where the man was located and extradited back to Queensland to face charges.

Police will allege in all incidents the man pretended to be armed with a weapon and made demands for money.

The robberies are alleged to have taken place at a:
• convenience store on Nicklin Way, Warana January 24 2014;
• video store at Currimundi Market Place January 19 2014;
• grocery store on Beerburrum Street, Dicky Beach January 19, 2014;
• service station at Beerburrum Street Aroona on August 22 2013 and a
• fast food outlet on Bowman Road, Caloundra July 17, 2013

The man has been charged with five counts of armed robbery and is scheduled to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 14.
