Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are interviewing a man following an alleged armed robbery at a Morwell fast food restaurant last night.
The incident occurred at a restaurant on McDonald Street about 8.20pm.
No injuries were reported.
A 40-year-old Morwell man was arrested overnight and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

About 8pm (Sunday 9 November 2014), a man entered a restaurant on Canterbury Road, Canterbury, near the intersection of Aldi Street, armed with a handgun.
The man allegedly threatened a female staff member and demanded money.
The 41-year-old woman complied with his demands and handed over cash before the man fled on a pushbike.
No one was injured during the incident

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

He was last seen riding a black and red pushbike west on Canterbury Road towards Canterbury railway station.
Two men have men arrested following two alleged armed robberies in the St Marys Local Area Command last week.
Just before 10am on Tuesday 28 October 2014, it’s alleged two men entered a restaurant in Manning Street, Kingswood, where they were threatened staff with a knife a demanded money. They left with the cash.
A second incident occurred about 6.30am on Thursday 30 October 2014, where police allege two men entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Cambridge Park, again armed with a knife. The men threatened staff and demanded money.
A member of the public interrupted the robbery and the men left the scene.
Following an investigation by police attached to St Marys Local Area Command, two men were arrested at a unit in Santley Street, Kingswood.
The men, aged 29 and 18, were each charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and attempted robbery with an offensive weapon, they were refused bail and appeared in Penrith Local Court on 30 October 2014.
Both were refused bail at court and remanded in custody until they next appear in Penrith Local Court on 12 December 2104.
Police have charged a man in relation to the armed robbery of a food outlet in Hope Island on September 3.

Three men will face court following an armed robbery in Wagga Wagga this morning, where a car was allegedly taken.
About 12.15am (Sunday 19 October 2014), three men, aged 18, 20 and 21, were sitting in a gold Holden Rodeo ute at a fast food restaurant car park on Fox Street when three men approached them.
Police have been told that one of the men who approached the vehicle was armed with a knife and the three men threatened the group in the vehicle, demanding they get out of the car and hand over the car keys.
The ute was allegedly driven away by the armed men, later picking up a friend.
The three men, who were uninjured, waved down nearby police and reported the incident.
About 3.30am, investigating officers received a report of an incident in Gundagai, where a group of men in a Holden Rodeo allegedly failed to pay for petrol at a service station.
About 4.40am, officers stopped the Holden near Yass. Four men in the vehicle were arrested at the scene and taken to Yass Police Station.
Three of the men, two aged 18 years and one aged 19 years, were charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive a motor vehicle in company and larceny.
They were granted conditional bail, to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on 3 December 2014.

Police have released CCTV footage following an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Springvale last week.
Two men with stockings covering their faces entered the fast food outlet on the corner of Springvale and Heatherton roads just after midnight on Friday 10 October.
Both of the offenders were armed with what are believed to be tomahawks, and walked behind the counter.
One of offenders made a demand for cash while the other kept a look out.
He then grabbed some cash out of the open register and they both fled the scene.
They were last seen running across Heatherton Road towards Burden Park.
No one was injured during the incident.
One of the men is described as being approximately 183cm tall and solid build.
He was wearing a grey hooded top, navy blue tracksuit pants with two stripes down the side and Converse style runners.
The second offender is described as being approximately 175cm tall.
He was wearing black tracksuit pants with writing down the side, a light-coloured t-shirt with a grey hooded top underneath, black shoes and black gloves.
