6 November 2014 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – Morwell

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are interviewing a man following an alleged armed robbery at a Morwell fast food restaurant last night.
The incident occurred at a restaurant on McDonald Street about 8.20pm.
No injuries were reported.
A 40-year-old Morwell man was arrested overnight and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
10 November 2014 – Armed Robbery – Restaurant – Canterbury
Published November 10, 2014 | Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in Canterbury last night.
About 8pm (Sunday 9 November 2014), a man entered a restaurant on Canterbury Road, Canterbury, near the intersection of Aldi Street, armed with a handgun.
The man allegedly threatened a female staff member and demanded money.
The 41-year-old woman complied with his demands and handed over cash before the man fled on a pushbike.
No one was injured during the incident
Police from Ashfield Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene that was examined by specialist forensic officers.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The man has been described as being tall, with a large build, and was wearing a black balaclava, black jacket with hood and black pants
He was last seen riding a black and red pushbike west on Canterbury Road towards Canterbury railway station.
3 November 2014 – Arrests – Armed Robberies – Restaurant/Newsagency – Kingwood/Cambridge Park
Published November 10, 2014 | Two men have men arrested following two alleged armed robberies in the St Marys Local Area Command last week.
Just before 10am on Tuesday 28 October 2014, it’s alleged two men entered a restaurant in Manning Street, Kingswood, where they were threatened staff with a knife a demanded money. They left with the cash.
A second incident occurred about 6.30am on Thursday 30 October 2014, where police allege two men entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Cambridge Park, again armed with a knife. The men threatened staff and demanded money.
A member of the public interrupted the robbery and the men left the scene.
Following an investigation by police attached to St Marys Local Area Command, two men were arrested at a unit in Santley Street, Kingswood.
The men, aged 29 and 18, were each charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and attempted robbery with an offensive weapon, they were refused bail and appeared in Penrith Local Court on 30 October 2014.
Both were refused bail at court and remanded in custody until they next appear in Penrith Local Court on 12 December 2104.
19 October 2014 – Update – Arrest – Armed Robbery – Food Outlet – Hope Island
Published October 31, 2014 | Police have charged a man in relation to the armed robbery of a food outlet in Hope Island on September 3.
It will be alleged around 7pm, a man armed with a knife entered the shop on Broadwater Avenue and made demands for money.
A male staff member handed over a sum of cash and the man left the store.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
A 26-year-old Coombabah man has been charged with armed robbery.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
30 October 2014 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – North Orange
Published October 31, 2014 | Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in North Orange early this morning.
About 12.30am (Thursday 30 October 2014), a man allegedly entered the front doors of a fast food restaurant on Telopea Way, North Orange, armed with a knife.
The man allegedly threatened staff and demanded money.
An employee complied with his demands and handed over cash before the man fled on foot.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Canobolas Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene that was examined by specialist forensic officers.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The man has been described as having a fair complexion, 20-25 years old, 175-180cm tall, and was wearing grey hoodie jacket with the hood pulled over, a dark bandana covering his face, navy shorts, and yellow gloves.
27 October 2014 – Armed Robbery – Restaurant – Erina

About 7.50pm (Sunday 26 October 2014), a man entered a take away restaurant on The Entrance Road, Erina armed with a knife.
The man allegedly threatened staff and demanded money.
An employee complied with his demands and handed over cash before the man fled on foot.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 50’s, 180cm tall, and was wearing a dark tracksuit top, dark blue jeans, sandals, sunglasses, a dark coloured baseball cap, and carrying a dark canvass bag.
26 October 2014 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – Tamworth
Published October 31, 2014 | Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in Tamworth early this morning.
About 12.30am (Sunday 26 October 2014), a man allegedly entered the rear door of a fast food restaurant on Roderick Street, Tamworth armed with a knife.
The restaurant was closed at the time with employees still present.
The man allegedly entered the kitchen area and threatened staff, demanding money.
An employee handed over cash before the man fled on foot.
Police from Oxley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The man has been described as being 180 to 185cm tall, with a medium build, and was wearing a balaclava, dark sunglasses and gloves. He was described as having a British accent with a deep voice.
23 October 2014 – Arrest – 6 Armed Robberies – Various Locations – Lake Illawarra LAC
Published October 31, 2014 | Police from a strike force investigating a series of armed robberies on the south coast have today arrested and charged a woman.
Detectives from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command established Strike Force Marroo to investigate the armed raids on businesses which occurred between May and September last year.
The six armed robberies occurred at a fast food restaurant in Unanderra, a golf club in Port Kembla, a supermarket in Gerringong and Bomaderry, a bowling club in Dapto and a bottle shop in Lake Heights.
Detectives today (Thursday 23 October), arrested a 35-year-old woman on Todd Street in Warrawong.
She has been interviewed and charged with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of break-and-enter and an outstanding warrant.
The woman has been refused bail and is set to appear at Port Kembla Local Court tomorrow (Friday 24 October).
19 October 2014 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – Wagga Wagga
Published October 31, 2014 | Three men will face court following an armed robbery in Wagga Wagga this morning, where a car was allegedly taken.
About 12.15am (Sunday 19 October 2014), three men, aged 18, 20 and 21, were sitting in a gold Holden Rodeo ute at a fast food restaurant car park on Fox Street when three men approached them.
Police have been told that one of the men who approached the vehicle was armed with a knife and the three men threatened the group in the vehicle, demanding they get out of the car and hand over the car keys.
The ute was allegedly driven away by the armed men, later picking up a friend.
The three men, who were uninjured, waved down nearby police and reported the incident.
About 3.30am, investigating officers received a report of an incident in Gundagai, where a group of men in a Holden Rodeo allegedly failed to pay for petrol at a service station.
About 4.40am, officers stopped the Holden near Yass. Four men in the vehicle were arrested at the scene and taken to Yass Police Station.
Three of the men, two aged 18 years and one aged 19 years, were charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive a motor vehicle in company and larceny.
They were granted conditional bail, to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on 3 December 2014.
A fourth man was released pending further inquiries.
15 October 2014 – Armed Robbery – Fast Food Restaurant – Springvale
Published October 17, 2014 | Police have released CCTV footage following an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Springvale last week.
Two men with stockings covering their faces entered the fast food outlet on the corner of Springvale and Heatherton roads just after midnight on Friday 10 October.
Both of the offenders were armed with what are believed to be tomahawks, and walked behind the counter.
One of offenders made a demand for cash while the other kept a look out.
He then grabbed some cash out of the open register and they both fled the scene.
They were last seen running across Heatherton Road towards Burden Park.
No one was injured during the incident.
One of the men is described as being approximately 183cm tall and solid build.
He was wearing a grey hooded top, navy blue tracksuit pants with two stripes down the side and Converse style runners.
The second offender is described as being approximately 175cm tall.
He was wearing black tracksuit pants with writing down the side, a light-coloured t-shirt with a grey hooded top underneath, black shoes and black gloves.
