Victoria Police is investigating two armed robberies which occurred this morning in Sunshine West and Derrimut.
Police have been told a man armed with a firearm forced entry to a factory in North View Drive, Sunshine West around 5am this morning.
The man confronted an employee at the factory and discharged the firearm towards her, causing minor injuries to her arm.
Police have attended at the premises and were confronted by the armed man who was holding the woman.
The man kept the woman with him whilst making his way towards a motorbike which was parked at the front of the property.
He has then let the woman go and left on the motorbike towards Somerville Road at a fast rate of speed.
The police immediately provided assistance to the woman and did not follow the armed man.
The woman has been conveyed to hospital for treatment.
The man did not steal anything from this property.
A short time later, around 5.25am, police received a call to a second armed robbery at a take-away food store on the corner of Mt Derrimut Road and Paramount Boulevard in Derrimut.
Police have been told the same man entered the store and threatened the female employee with the firearm before stealing a quantity of cash from the register.
The man is then believed to have left the area on the same motorbike.
The female employee was conveyed to hospital for observation and treatment for shock.
The armed offender is described as male, approximately 6 foot tall, solid build, wearing dark clothing and a full face helmet.
Police are investigating following the attempted armed robbery of a takeaway food store at Slacks Creek last night.
Just before midnight, a man entered the store on Kingston Road and made demands for money while armed with a small knife.
The man behind the counter didn’t comply with his demands and when another staff member approached him, the man left the store making threatening gestures towards them.
He left without any cash or property and nobody was physically injured.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, with a large build. He was wearing black clothes, a red and black cap and had his mouth and nose covered with a black bandana.
Police urge anyone who may have seen this man, or who has any information which could assist their investigations, to contact Crime Stoppers or Policelink.
Police have released a photo of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into an armed robbery at a Broadwater Avenue food outlet in Hope Island last night.
Around 7pm a man allegedly armed with a knifeentered the shop and made demands for money. The attendant handed over a sum of cash and the man left the store.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
The man (pictured) is described as being Caucasian, in his mid-twenties, approximately 175cms, clean shaven with a red mark on his right cheek.
He was wearing a dark blue beanie, dark coloured long sleeve flannelette jacket and dark coloured track pants.
Investigations are continuing.
Elizabeth police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a pizza shop at Salisbury Downs.
At 9.30pm a man entered a take-away business at Hollywood Plaza allegedly armed with a knife and threatened staff. The man left with an amount of cash and was seen leaving in a silver car.
No one was physically injured.
The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 6ft tall and slim build.
Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a take-away store in Budgewoi.
About 9.30pm yesterday (Friday 29 August 2014), two men entered a pizza shop on Lake Street, threatening the 16-year-old employee with a gun and demanding money from the cash register.
Both offenders ran from the area after obtaining cash.
No shots were fired and there were no injuries.
Tuggerah Lakes Police were called to the area and established a crime as part of their investigations.
They are appealing for information and would like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with the investigations.
The first man is described as being Caucasian appearance, wearing a white t-shirt and a black, hooded jumper. He was also wearing long, black pants and a red and blue baseball cap. The man had tattoos on both his forearms.
The second man is also described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a blue-coloured, hooded jumper, black pants and white sneakers. He is described as being of medium build
Police are investigating following an armed robbery at a takeaway shop in Ash Street Yamanto last night.
Around 9.45pm a man allegedly armed with a machete entered the shop and made demands for money. The female attendant handed over a sum of cash and the man left the store.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery which occurred in Monash last night (Saturday, August 23).
About 9pm, three males entered the Panda Chinese Restaurant, located at Monash Shops off Barraclough Crescent. One of the males was carrying a short axe and demanded cash from the staff.
The male attempted to flee with the cash register, however struggled to carry it due to its weight and fell to the floor. The male then fled the store with the other two males, leaving the cash register behind.
The offenders were last seen heading onto the greenbelt towards Isabella Drive.
The offenders are described as being Caucasian in appearance, possibly aged in their mid to late teens, with slim builds and about 178cm (5’10”) tall. They were wearing dark hoodies, dark coloured tracksuit pants and bandanas covering their faces.
Police have charged two women following investigations into an armed robbery that occurred at a Springwood restaurant last night.
It will be alleged that around 10.20pm, two women armed with a tomahawk entered the Watland Street business and threatened a male employee before fleeing with a sum of cash.
No one was injured during the incident.
A 22-year-old woman and 25-year-old woman, both from Slacks Creek, have been charged with one count each of armed robbery.
Both are due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this morning.
Brimbank Embona Taskforce detectives are appealing for information after a milk bar owner was robbed at knifepoint in Sunshine last month.
Investigators have been told the robber entered the Hampshire Road store around 9.50am on 21 July and approached the front counter demanding cash.
When the attendant refused, the man pulled out a carving knife and brandished it at him.
The shopkeeper opened the till and the robber grabbed a sum of cash before fleeing the scene on foot east along Benjamin Street.
Detectives investigating have released CCTV images and footage of the man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
The man police wish to speak to is described as being Caucasian, around 183cm tall and aged between 25-35 with a reddish-coloured beard.
He was wearing a black cap with a distinctive red and white logo on the front, a dark-coloured jacket with a fawn-coloured collar, black tracksuit pants with white stripes up the side and black runners with white laces.
Police are investigating an armed robbery at Bexley overnight.
Shortly before 1.30am (Saturday 2 August 2014), a man entered a takeaway shop on Forest Road armed with a knife.
The man, who had his face concealed, threatened the attendant and demanded money before fleeing with cash.
Police were alerted and officers from St George Local Area Command attended, established a crime scene and conducted a search of the area.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for public assistance to locate the man involved.
It’s believed he left the scene in a red car, similar to a Hyundai, with a number of men on board.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or suspicious activity in the area, is urged to come forward.
