Police are investigating an attempted robbery at Elizabeth yesterday afternoon. At about 5.50pm, a man armed with a knife threatened staff and demanded money at the drive-through window of the Hungry Jacks restaurant on Elizabeth Way. Staff kept the window closed, and the man then assaulted a male staff member who was outside the restaurant. The staff member did not suffer any injuries as a result of the assault. The suspect is described as 25-30 years old, 180cm tall, medium build, and had a beard. Shortly after 8.30pm on Monday 21 July 2014 a young man entered the Himalayan Kitchen on Invermay Road Mowbray armed with a metal bar.
He demanded money while threatening staff with the metal bar. While the man was demanding money, his accomplice, a woman, entered the restaurant and then both offenders then left with a small amount of cash. They got in to an older model white Mitsubishi Magna sedan parked on the street with other people inside and drove off at speed.
Both the man and woman were described as being in the early teens.
At about 9pm two men entered Blockbuster Video at Kings Meadows with a metal bar and demanded cash from the attendant. One offender went behind the counter and took a small amount of cash from the till and the attendant’s mobile phone was stolen as the offenders were both leaving through the main door.
The men were seen getting into an older model white Mitsubishi Magna sedan which again sped off out of the car park with other people inside the vehicle.
Both men in this robbery were described as being in their mid to late teens.
At about 4pm on Saturday 19th July 2014, members from Tasmania Police were called to attend an armed robbery at Pizza Hut Mowbray.
A man entered the store holding a knife and demanded an undisclosed sum of money from a female staff member. The man was last seen running on Pleasant Street, Mowbray towards Target.
The offender is described as caucasian, 5ft 11, medium build, wearing a grey hooded jumper with a distinct logo, grey trousers and a dark coloured cap. He was also carrying a green supermarket bag.
No injuries were sustained during the robbery.
Police have charged a man following two armed robberies in Brisbane City last night.
It will be alleged shortly after 9pm, a man entered a gaming arcade in the Brisbane CBD approached the counter and advised staff he was armed with a weapon.
He is then alleged to have made demands for cash and then fled the scene after staff advised him that they did not have any money.
It will be further alleged that around 9.30pm, a man entered a fast food outlet in the CBD and told staff that he was armed before demanding cash.
Staff at the store complied and the man fled the scene with a sum of money.
A 35-year-old South Brisbane man has been charged with two counts of entering premises with intent to commit indictable offence and one count each of attempted robbery and armed robbery.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in Milton last night.
Shortly before 10.15pm, a man has entered a fast food restaurant on Milton Road and approached the counter.
Police will allege the man then advised staff he was armed with a gun and made demands for cash.
The staff complied and the man allegedly fled the scene with a sum of cash.
A 35-year-old South Brisbane man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and enter premises to commit an indictable offence.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a takeaway-pizza shop in Casino overnight.
Just after 8.30pm (Monday 14 July 2014), two men wearing balaclavas entered the Canterbury Street business.
One of the men was armed with a pistol.
Police have been told the armed man threatened a 19-year-old male staff member, while the other took cash from the tills.
Both men then left the shop.
No-one was injured in the incident.
Police from Richmond Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, and appealing for information from the public about the incident.
Police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in Maroubra last night.
Just after 10pm (Thursday 10 July 2014), two men armed with machetes entered a pizza shop on Anzac Parade armed and demanded cash from two male employees, aged 23 and 25.
One of the armed men assaulted the younger employee, before the armed pair ran from the scene empty handed south along Anzac Parade.
Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The 23-year-old man suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment. No one else was injured during the incident.
As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with information to contact Maroubra Police or Crime Stoppers.

Just before 6.30pm, a man entered the rear kitchen of a restaurant on Longview Road, allegedly armed with a knife and threatened staff.
He left with an amount of cash.
No one was physically injured.
The suspect is described as being Caucasian, aged in his 30’s and wearing a green jumper.

It was just after 8pm (Wednesday 9 July 2014) that a man armed with a knife entered the Bringelly Road restaurant.
Police have been told the man, whose face was covered, threatened a female staff member.
He then took cash from the register and ran from the premises.
No-one was injured in the incident.
Police from St Marys Local Area Command attended and began an investigation.
They are appealing for information from the public about a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described only as being of Caucasian appearance, and with an average height and build.
Police are appealing for information after the attempted armed robbery of a café at Glenfield last night.
About 7.50pm (Friday 4 July 2014), a man entered a café on Railway Parade armed with a knife and demanded money from a staff member.
Staff members inside the café ran outside and the man left through a rear door with no property.
Police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were called to the business and established a crime scene.
Detectives would like to speak with a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 30s, approximately 178cm tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper with white writing on the front.
