At 1.00am this morning a man armed with a knife has robbed staff at a pizza outlet on Glynburn Road at Tranmere. He left with an amount of cash and was last seen running towards Richardson Road and then Glen Street. Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Canley Heights overnight.

About 9.40pm (Sunday 15 June 2014) four men were closing a takeaway shop, which included food preparation for the following day.

Two men have entered the store, wearing all black with face coverings, and demanded cash. One of the men was carrying a newspaper and told the group he had a weapon inside.

Two of the men have come from the rear of the store, carrying knives they were using to prepare food. The offenders, seeing the armed employees, ran from the store empty handed.

Police attended and a crime scene was established. Inquiries into the attempted robbery are continuing.

A man has been charged over multiple robberies allegedly carried out in Sydney’s west during the past two months.

Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit formed Strike Force Suberous to investigate armed robberies in south-western and north-western Sydney between 16 April 2014 and 12 May 2014.

The 20-year-old man was charged today with eight counts of robbery with an offensive weapon and three counts of having his face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The charges relate to the alleged:

• Armed robbery of a service station at Silverwater on Wednesday 16 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Auburn on Thursday 17 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at West Ryde on Saturday 19 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Regents Park Tuesday 22 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at North Ryde on Saturday 26 April 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at Kenthurst Thursday 1 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery of a service station at North Ryde on Monday 5 May 2014;

• Armed robbery of a restaurant at Rouse Hill also on Monday 5 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery at of a service station at Ermington on Thursday 8 May 2014;

• Armed robbery of a service station at McGraths Hill on Friday 9 May 2014;

• Attempted armed robbery of a service station at Dundas on Monday 12 May 2014;

The matters have been listed for mention in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 10 June 2014.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food restaurant at Roselands overnight.

Police have been told it was 10.20pm (Friday 30 May 2014), when a man entered the business and threatened two people with a knife, demanding cash.

He took cash from the till and left the scene before police were alerted.

A crime scene was established and an investigation is now underway.

Police want to speak with a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He’s described as being about 170cm tall, with a large/obese build, olive complexion, black beard, black hooded jumper and black tracksuit pants. At the time he had his face covered and was holding a silver knife.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Old Reynella last night. Just after 11.20pm, a man armed with a knife entered the Domino’s pizza shop on Main South Road and demanded money from staff. He fled with an amount of cash, and was last seen running north from the shop. No one was injured during the incident. Detectives investigating a spate of armed robberies in Sydney’s west have charged a woman with firearm supply.

Earlier this year, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad formed Strike Force Nutba to investigate a number of incidents, including:

– The armed robbery of a recreational facility in Campbelltown on 2 February 2014;

– The armed robbery of a restaurant in Narellan on 5 February 2014;

– The attempted armed robbery of a restaurant in Campbelltown on 6 February 2014; and,

– The armed robbery of a restaurant in Penrith on 10 February.

Each robbery involved at least two men entering the property, and threatening a cleaner with a firearm, before attempting to gain access to any on-site cash.

Following inquiries, detectives executed search warrants at homes in Ambarvale and Claymore last week (Wednesday 14 May 2014).

During the search warrants, police located and seized a number of items suspected to have been stolen, including two detonators, two python snakes, two Harley Davidson motorcycles, and prohibited weapons.

Three men – aged 31, 28, and 50 – were arrested last Wednesday. All remain before the courts.

Yesterday, detectives arrested a 37-year-old woman at a property in Leeton in the state’s south. She was taken to Leeton Police Station where she was charged with supply prohibited firearm and possess prohibited drug, before being bail refused to appear in Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 21 May 2014).

A 32-year-old woman, also present at the property in Leeton when police attended, will be issued with a future court attendance notice for drug possession.

Inquiries by Strike Force Nutba are continuing.

Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a fast food store at Highfields last night.

Shortly before 7.30pm a man entered the New England Highway business carrying a knife and walked through to a back area before opening the till.

A staff member shut the drawer before the man obtained any cash.

The man ran off and got into a car, described as a bluish-white coloured sedan, and was last seen driving north.

No one at the business was physically harmed during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian, 178cm tall, of slim build with blonde hair. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, black trousers, black sunglasses and had a grey scarf covering part of his face.

Police have charged a 19-year-old man following the alleged attempted armed robbery of a fast food store at Warwick this morning.

It will be alleged around 4am a man approached the drive-through window of the Albion Street business on foot before producing a broken glass bottle and demanding staff hand over cash.

The employees refused the man’s demands and alerted police.

Officers arrested the man at the scene a short time later.

A 19-year-old Warwick man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and entering a premises with intent.

He is due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court tomorrow.

South Coast Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at an Old Reynella pizza store last night. At 10.50pm, a man armed with a knife entered the Main South Road shop front and demanded money. He left on foot with a sum of cash. The suspect wore a grey hooded jumper, dark baseball cap and gloves. Patrols attended and searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Ella, who located a track, but was unable to find the offender. Orange-shoed robber flees Glenorchy Subway

Tasmania Police investigators are appealing for information from the public after an armed robbery at the Subway sandwich shop in Eady St, Glenorchy last night.

Just after 10pm a man produced a knife and demanded money from the two teenage female staff.

He left with a sum of notes and coins from the cash register, carried in a Subway bag and an ANZ bag.

The suspect is described as:

Medium build, about 160-165cm tall, aged in his late 20’s and wearing black track pants, a grey hooded jumper and distinctive orange shoes.

The store was empty of customers and the offender fled on foot towards Eady St oval.

The investigating officer, Senior Constable Jennifer Wood said:

“This would have been a terrifying experience for the two young shop attendants and we are doing everything we can to identify and arrest the offender.

“He covered his face with his top and was in and out of the shop in a matter of seconds.

“He was wearing bright orange shoes which could be helpful in identifying him by those who know him.

“We are asking for anyone who thinks they might know anything about the robbery or the offender to contact police.”
