An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to a fast food store on Chester Hill Road, about 9.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 May 2018), following reports man, armed with a firearm, entered the store.

The man threatened a staff member and demanded cash, before leaving the scene.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and conducted a canvass of the area, with assistance from the Dog Unit, before establishing a crime scene.

The man is described as being about 188cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket with white writing, dark blue pants and black shoes.

Inquiries are continuing.

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred at The Gap this evening.

At about 6.50pm, a man wearing a balaclava and armed with a gun entered a fast food restaurant on Waterworks Road and demanded money from the male staff member.

The man fled the scene a short time later with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

Detectives have charged three teenagers following investigations into the armed robbery of a take away store in Berserker yesterday afternoon.

It will be alleged that around 4.20pm the three girls entered the shop on Blanchard Street, approached the counter, produced a star picket and threatened a male employee who fled to a room at the rear of the business.

The trio are then alleged to have stolen a sum of cash from the register, before fleeing on foot.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

A 16,14 and 13-year-old girl were all charged with one count of armed robbery whilst in company.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a take away store in Berserker this afternoon.

Around 4.20pm three females entered the shop on Blanchard Street, approached the counter and produced a star picket to threaten a male employee.

The employee fled to a room at the rear of the business and locked the door.

The trio then stole a sum of cash from the register, before fleeing on foot with a fourth female, believed to have been waiting outside the business.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The females are all described as being Aboriginal and juveniles.

Upon arrival, a number of officers patrolled the area, however could not locate the females.

Anyone who may have seen the females or have further information is urged to contact police.

A man has been arrested thanks to the help of some quick-thinking bystanders following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Boronia last night (12 May).

Investigators have been told a man armed with a baseball bat allegedly tried to hold up a milk bar on Coleman Road about 7pm.

A 21-year-old attendant sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital.

It is understood a group of bystanders helped apprehend the man and restrain him until police arrived.

He was arrested at the scene and has been charged with attempted armed robbery.

Police are appealing for public assistance after a restaurant was robbed near Newcastle yesterday.

About 5pm (Thursday 10 May 2018), two men entered a restaurant on Mitchell Street, Stockton, and threatened a female employee.

The men stole cash and the woman’s phone before fleeing the store and entering a vehicle parked outside.

No one was physically injured.

Police wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

One man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, 178cm tall, with a large build, and was last seen wearing a white hooded jumper and black sunglasses.

A second man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s, 185cm tall, with a thin build, and was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper.

A 24-year-old man has been charged over the armed robbery of a coffee shop at Ormeau on Sunday, April 29.

Following investigations, police executed a search warrant on a private residence at Camelot Court this morning, where officers arrested a man.

It is alleged that around 5.30am on April 29, the man entered the Eggersdorf Road business armed with a small axe and confronted staff and demanded money.

It is further alleged that the man has then used the axe to access two cash registers and steal a cash drawer with a sum of money

No one was injured in the incident.

A 24-year-old Ormeau man has now been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of enter with intent.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court this afternoon.

A man has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a Richlands take away food restaurant last night.

It will be alleged that around 7.40pm, an armed man entered the business on the corner of Progress Road and demanded staff open the cash register.

The employee refused and it will be alleged the man produced a syringe before stealing a sum of cash.

The man then allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with a male witness who was near the store.

Police arrived a short time later and took the man into custody without incident.

The man left the business in a black VE Commodore Omega.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 178cm tall with a solid build and facial hair.

He was wearing a yellow and navy high-vis long-sleeved shirt, dark shorts, tanned work boots with no laces, an orange hard hat with pink and white stickers, gloves and had his face covered with material.

Anyone who may recognise the man depicted in the footage or who may have information about the incident is urged to contact police.

Initial investigations indicate that around 5.30am, a man armed with a small axe walked into the Eggersdorf Road business and approached the cash registers.

He has used the axe to cut through the cords of two registers before taking one and demanding a sum of cash from a female employee, which she complied.

The man then left the business with a sum of cash in a recent model, blue Holden Commodore with distinctive mag wheels.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The man had his face covered with what appeared to be a white t-shirt wrapped around his face, and was last seen wearing a yellow high-vis vest with long, dark sleeves, dark shorts and tanned work boots with no laces.
