Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a pizza restaurant at Angle Vale this evening.

About 8pm on Sunday 8 July, a man threatened staff with a machete at the restaurant on Heaslip Road, Angle Vale and made off with the till drawer.

Fortunately, the staff member was not physically injured during the robbery.

The suspect left in a silver or grey sedan and was last seen heading towards Curtis Road.  He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, with short black hair, a short black slightly scruffy beard, olive complexion, slim build and wearing dark clothing.

A 29-year-old man has been charged after the alleged attempted armed robbery of a fast food outlet at Currimundi early this morning.

It will be alleged around 4am a male driver in a stolen utility threatened a staff member with a firearm in the drive-through of the Nicklin Way business.

The employee moved away from the drive-through window and the vehicle drove away.

No one was injured during the incident.

Around 5.20am police located a utility on Joshua Court in Caboolture before it drove away from officers, allegedly evading police.

Police pursued the vehicle until it stopped on Uhlman Road at Burpengary East and the man fled on foot. He was later located by officers and taken into custody around 10.15am.

A search allegedly located a quantity of ice, a firearm and a knife.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop, obstruct police, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a knife, trespass, stealing and unlawful possession of explosives (ammunition).

He is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Investigations conducted by detectives at the Mackay Criminal Investigation Branch have identified CCTV footage from a grocery store on Bridge Road in West Mackay taken a very short time after the alleged incident in Kay Court happened.  Police believe the male person in these images may be able to assist with this investigation.

At 7.57 pm on Thursday, June 21 a blue Mazda hatch with false registration plates attached – 313 WLB -entered the drive-thru of a fast food outlet on Kay Court in Mount Pleasant.

It is alleged the Mazda did not stop at the intercom and instead drove to the first service window.

The driver was the only occupant and demanded the staff member hand over the money in the till.

It’s alleged the driver was in possession of an unknown 30-centimetre-long cylindrical object which was concealed under clothing.

The staff member immediately left the service window and sought help.

As a result the Mazda was driven away from the area at high speed.

Nobody was injured during the incident and nothing has been stolen.

The driver of the Mazda is described as follows:

  • Appearance: male, approximately 20 years of age, dark hair, dark eyes, dark complexion, skinny build.
  • Clothing: wearing a teal (blue/green) beanie, black and white bandana worn over the bottom of his face, grey jumper with hoodie pulled over the top of the head.
  • Noticeably deep voice.

Police are encouraging residents to examine the images from the CCTV of the Mazda above.

An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Sydney’s west this morning.

Police have been told a man, armed with a knife, entered a fast food restaurant on Sherwood Road, Merrylands, about 7.15am today (Sunday 24 June 2018).

The man approached the counter and threatened staff and demanded cash. Police were told the man was given cash before leaving the scene, possibly in a dark-coloured vehicle.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are investigating after a coffee shop was robbed in River Hills this morning..

Officers were called to the Bogong Street shop shortly after 6am following reports that two men entered the business armed with an axe.

One of the men grabbed a computer off the front counter and the woman working at the business tired to grab it.

During the struggle the man struck the woman on the hand with the axe and the pair then fled the scene with the computer.

The woman was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The two men are believed to be in their 20s, around 182cms tall and had slim builds, with one of them believed to be Caucasian in appearance.

Investigations into the robbery continue.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast-food restaurant in Bonnyrigg this morning.

Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command received reports that a man had entered the restaurant on Elizabeth Drive in Bonnyrigg about 3.45am (Friday 15 June 2018).

Police have been told the man, believed to be armed with a knife, approached one of the attendants and the store’s manager.

He took cash from the premises and fled.

He is described as being of Asian appearance and had a scarf covering his face, about 165cms tall with a small build. He was wearing a black-hooded jumper, grey tracksuit pants, red Asics shoes and black gloves.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police.

Investigations are underway and police are urging anyone with information that may assist to come forward.

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released footage as part of their investigation into an armed robbery in Preston last night.

It is alleged four males attended the Victoria Street milk bar and jumped the counter shortly after 9pm.

Staff have fought back and managed to restrain one of males, a 17-year-old boy, until police arrived.

The three other males fled the scene.

Two staff members were injured – a 54-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening facial injuries and a 31-year-old man was treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.

The Reservoir teenager has been charged with armed robbery, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, and unlawful assault.

He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Investigators have today released CCTV and images of three males who may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

 

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Morwell last weekend.

Investigators have been told a man armed with a handgun entered a fast food restaurant on Princes Drive and demanded money from the tills about 12.10am on Saturday 2 June.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman from Morwell, handed over a sum of cash and the offender fled the scene on foot.

The offender, who covered his face with ski googles and a scarf, was last seen heading north on Princes Drive.

The man, who was also wearing a black hooded jumper with yellow trim around the hood, is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance and about 170-180cm with a thin build.

Detectives have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Detectives have charged a man after the alleged robbery of a Chinese Restaurant at Marsden yesterday afternoon.

It will be alleged about 5.25pm a man entered the Barklya Place business and threatened a female staff member stealing her phone.

He then demanded keys for car from another staff member who refused. The man then left the store.

Polair located two men walking nearby shortly after and police stopped the men, one of whom had possession of the woman’s phone.

A 32-year-old Taigum man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. He will appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, May 28.

Two men and a woman have been arrested for armed robberies at Altona North and Williamstown late last year.

Altona North Embona Armed Robbery Taskforce detectives swooped on the Newport home early this morning, arresting the trio.

The Newport men, aged 22 and 26 and Newport woman, 25, are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

A white Toyota Corolla was seized from the address believed to be used in connection with the armed robberies.

Cash was stolen at the armed robberies at a fast food store at the intersection of Blackshaws Road and Millers Road on 26 November and in Douglas Parade Williamstown on 23 December.
