Police have apprehended a 15-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman following investigations into several offences, including the serious assault and attempted robbery of a 19-year-old woman in Alderley on Monday, December 24.

Specialist police intercepted the woman and boy at around 2:30 pm today, at a shopping centre in Mount Pleasant, Mackay.  They are currently assisting with police inquiries into these offences.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at an Elizabeth East supermarket a short time ago.

Just after 9pm on Sunday 6 January, a man wearing a balaclava entered the supermarket on Midway Road, Elizabeth East armed with a small knife and stole cash from the till.

Fortunately, no staff were injured during the robbery.

Police and Police Dog Ruger are searching the area for the suspect, who left on foot.

He is described as about 170 cm tall and wearing a high-vis shirt.

A man has been arrested over an aggravated robbery at a Taperoo deli yesterday morning.

Just before 6.20am on Saturday 8 December, police were called to a business on Strathfield Terrace after a vigilant motorist reported seeing a suspicious man entering the shop.

The man, who was allegedly armed with a knife, entered the shop and demanded cash from staff before fleeing the scene on foot. Thankfully, no one was physically injured during the incident.

Patrols, along with dog operations officers and PD Arnie, searched the area but were unable to locate the offender.

As a result of investigations, Western District Detectives arrested a 48-year-old Taperoo man this evening and charged him with aggravated robbery, theft and deception. He was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Northern Territory Police have arrested two men in relation to an aggravated assault and robbery at a supermarket in Alice Springs yesterday.

It is alleged just before 10am the two men and another unidentified man entered a supermarket in Eastside and on approaching the counter, began arguing with the female cashier.

On the arrival of the supervisor, it is alleged one of the men, a 19-year-old climbed onto the counter and kicked the supervisor once to the face before jumping behind the counter.

It is further alleged the other man, a 22-year-old threw two large glass bottles at the wall near the cashier’s head before the 19-year-old man punched her in the face and stole several packets of cigarettes. The trio then fled the scene.

Police deployed multiple resources and arrested the 22-year-old man late yesterday. He will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today on the following charges:

1 x Aggravated Robbery

2 x Damage to property

3 x Drive vehicle manner Dangerous/pursuit

1 x Drive Vehicle manager Dangerous

5 x Drive Disqualified

1 x Fail to comply with reporting conditions

1 x Breach of Bail

The 19-year-old and another 22-year-old man were arrested by front line members and Police Dog Loki at a separate incident in which a woman was assaulted and had her car windscreen smashed at a town camp yesterday morning.

The 19-year-old will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today on the following charges:

1 x Aggravated Robbery

1 x Damage to Property

1 x Armed with an Offensive Weapon

The 22-year-old man was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and received bail.

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a St Kilda supermarket last month.

Investigators have been told a cashier was serving a customer at the Barkley Street store about 10am on 30 October.

As she opened the till to take out money, a man appeared behind her and stole the cash from her hands before running out of the store.

Two supermarket staff chased the man and tried to restrain him before a vehicle approached, with a woman exiting the car.

The two workers retreated back inside, with the woman and man fleeing in the car, described as a red Holden hatchback or similar.

Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries, as well as a photo of the red hatchback.

The man was wearing black pants, a black jumper and black hooded jacket with grey lining.

He also wore a grey beanie.

Police have charged two people following an armed robbery at a shopping centre in Maroochydore overnight.

At around 8:20pm a woman was approached by a group of people as she approached her vehicle in the car park of the shopping centre on Horton Parade.

It will be alleged a woman produced a knife and sprayed the car owner in the face with a can of deodorant, before stealing the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Officers responded and located the car on Plaza Parade a short time later.

A 20-year-old Bli Bli woman and an 18-year-old Bli Bli woman have both been charged with armed robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence.

They are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are at the scene of an attempt aggravated robbery at Salisbury Downs.

About 3.30pm, Thursday 25 October, a woman entered a Deli on Londonderry Avenue and threatened staff with a plastic firearm. The woman demanded cash but left empty handed.

The woman was last seen getting into the passenger seat of a red hatch back which headed south on Foley Street. She is described as Caucasian, 152cm tall about 20-years-old. She was wearing a blonde bob wig, blonde fake moustache and a green and orange top.

Patrols are searched the area but have not yet located the suspect.  Enquiries are continuing.

A man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in the state’s west last month.

About 7.20pm on Tuesday 25 September 2018, a 37-year-old man entered a supermarket on Aberford Street, Coonamble.

The man allegedly threatened the attendant with a knife, before taking cash and leaving the store.

Officers from Orana-Mid Western Police District were notified and attended the scene.

Following inquires, about 4.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 September 2018), police arrested a 37-year-old man on Castlereagh Street, Coonamble.

He was taken to Coonamble Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with offensive weapon. He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 24 October 2018).

Detectives investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Darra supermarket last week have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with over the incident.

Around 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 9 the man entered the Monier Road store carrying a machete.

At the time several employees who observed the man enter the store were able lock themselves in a store room.

The armed man attempted to access the locked room however was unsuccessful and fled a short time after.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man described as being approximately between 180-190cm tall, with a dark complexion, sold build, wearing dark boots, dark long pants, orange hi-vis jacket with a hoodie and carrying a machete.

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at Darra yesterday evening.

At about 7.30pm, a man carrying a machete entered a grocery store on Monier Road.

Staff who witnessed the man enter the store retreated to a staff room where they locked the door.

The armed man attempted to access the locked room however was unsuccessful.

The man fled the scene a short time later.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
