Police have laid charges in relation to the armed robbery of a delivery driver outside a Gatton bottle shop this morning.

It will be alleged that around 4.45am, a male truck driver opened the door to his truck which was parked on William Street when was approached by two men armed with knives.

The men allegedly demanded the driver open the back of the truck, however he managed to close his door and locked himself inside the truck’s cab and call Triple Zero.

The pair ran off empty-handed.

Gatton Police conducted patrols and with the help of the Dog Squad, attended a Hood Street address and located three men.

A 19-year-old Ipswich West man has been charged with one count each of attempted robbery, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, possess pipes and obstruct police.

A 24-year-old Lowood man has been charged with attempted robbery, assault police and obstruct police.

The pair are due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 19-year-old Gatton man also located at the address has been charged with one count each of obstruct police, possess pipes and possessing anything for use in the commission of a crime.

He is due to appear in the Gatton Magistrates Court on January 23.

Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with attempted armed robbery following police investigations into an incident at a Burleigh Waters adult store last night (December 22).

Police will allege two teens, one armed with a baton, entered the Reedy Creek business around 11.20pm and demanded cash. They threatened a 26-year-old male employee, striking out at him with a baton.

The man dodged the baton strike with it connecting instead with a computer and knocking it to the ground. The pair then damaged property in the store before fleeing.

A dog squad officer and his police dog, responding to the incident, quickly located a track and followed it to a nearby skate park where the youths were located.

Both boys are from Varsity Lakes.

Detectives investigating a series of armed robberies on Brisbane’s northside over the past month yesterday arrested a 34-year-old man at a Hendra address.

He was taken into custody and charged in relation to two alleged robbery offences that occurred at Wavell Heights on December 17.

Police will allege a man attempted to rob a Shaw Road bakery around 5.30am. The man, brandishing a large knife, threatened two male employees and demanded money. He fled empty handed after they refused to hand over any cash and grabbed a rolling pin to protect themselves.

Around 5.55am police will allege the same man entered a Rode Road bakery and threatened staff with a large knife before stealing cash and fleeing.

No one was physically injured during the robberies.

A 34-year-old Hendra man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today where he faces one count each of attempted robbery threatening violence and armed robbery.

Detectives continue to investigate a number of serious incidents, including armed robbery, stealing and unlawful use of motor vehicle offences, with additional charges possible.

Police are investigating following an alleged armed robbery in the state’s Central West.

Just after 5am yesterday (Monday 2 January 2017), two men entered a business on Mitchell Highway, Wellington.

The two men, allegedly armed with a knife and a baton, threatened a female staff member and demanded cash and cigarettes, before fleeing the scene in a white Mitsubishi Magna.

The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics as a precaution for bruising to her forearm.

Officers attached to Orana Local Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced and investigation.

Police would like to speak to two men who might be able to assist with inquires.

The first man has been described to police as being about 173cm tall, with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a balaclava, grey hooded jumper, grey tracksuit pants, pink gloves and black shoes.

The second man has been described to police as being about 183cm tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper, with black shorts and white joggers.

Police are urging anyone with any information to contact detectives from Dubbo Police Station via Crime Stoppers.

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate an attempted armed robbery of a newsagency in Wollongong this afternoon.

About 12.50pm (Tuesday 27 December 2016), a 60-year-old woman was working at a newsagency on Bellevue Road when an unknown man entered the store and produced what appeared to be a firearm.

Police have been told the man demanded money, when the woman yelled for help and the man ran from the store empty handed.

The man may have entered a maroon-coloured vehicle parked nearby, with a second person driving it from the scene.

The woman, uninjured, contacted police and officers from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of thin build, about 170cm tall, with a tattoo on the left side of his neck. The man was seen wearing a black cap, a long-sleeved grey top, and black tracksuit pants.

Detectives are investigating after a bakery in Wavell Heights was robbed earlier this morning.

Shortly before 6am, a man entered the business on Rode Road armed with a large knife.

He made demands for money and when staff complied, he fled the scene with a sum of cash and was last seen leaving on a motorcycle.
No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

A short time later police were notified by members of the public of a traffic incident on Miller Street, Chermside involving the same motorcycle.

Initial information suggests the rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed before getting back on the bike and fleeing.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, wearing long pants, a maroon and blue short sleeved jumper with a long sleeved white shirt underneath, black helmet with a red horizontal stripe on the back.

The motorcycle was described as blue and white in colour with a blue milk crate strapped to the back.

Police are also investigating if the same man was involved in the attempted armed robbery of a bakery on Shaw Road around 5.55am.

Investigations are continuing.

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.

About 9pm on Monday 21 November 2016, two men entered a business on the corner of Carrington and Londonderry Road, Londonderry, armed with a machete and an iron bar.

It will be alleged the two men threatened a staff member and demanded cash and cigarettes, before leaving the scene on foot. The men were last seen walking east on Carrington Road.

Officers attached to Metropolitan Robbery Unit attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police from Metropolitan Robbery Unit would like to speak to two men who might be able to assist with inquiries.

Both men are described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and in their early 20s. They were last seen wearing dark hooded tops pulled over their head, a baseball cap with their faces covered.

Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south.

After 1am on Friday 16 December 2016, a man entered a home on Lombard Street, Glebe, allegedly taking a set of car keys and red Volkswagen GTI from the location.

It will be alleged a man then entered a business on the Princess Highway, Tempe, about 4am today (Monday 19 December 2016), armed with a hammer.

The man allegedly threatened a staff member and stole cash, before leaving in the red Volkswagen GTI.

The staff member was uninjured.

Officers were contacted and a short pursuit of the vehicle was initiated.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today (Monday 19 December 2016).

The man allegedly threatened a staff member and stole cash, before leaving in a red Volkswagen GTI.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Stafford Heights this morning.

Around 6.50am, a man dressed in a Spiderman costume has entered a newsagency on Rode Road and confronted a male staff member making demands for money.

The man produced a firearm and threatened the staff member who did not comply with the demand, telling the offender to leave.

The man fled in a silver Volkswagon Golf bearing Queensland registration 083VVK (similar to pictured) without taking any property.

This vehicle was reported stolen to police on Decemeber 1 from a residence at Ascot.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 168cms tall, with a slim build and brown hair.

The 64-year-old male staff member was not physically injured.
