Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.
About 4.30pm yesterday (Friday 21 October 2016), a 49-year-old man was at a smash repair business on Woodpark Road, Smithfield, when he was confronted by two men in balaclavas who were armed with knives.
The man was threatened with the weapons and struck on the head with the butt of a knife.
He handed over a sum of cash before the two men fled the scene.
Police from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations. The victim refused any medical treatment.
Inquiries continue, no arrests have yet been made.
The first male is described as slim build, about 180cm tall, wearing a high visibility yellow long sleeve shirt, black pants, white Nike runners, black and yellow motorcycle gloves, a black balaclava and he was armed with a 30cm knife.
The second male is described as about 170cm tall, wearing a navy blue ‘Russell Athletic’ hooded jumper, black pants, dark coloured runners, red gloves, a black balaclava, and he was armed with a 15cm knife.
Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a medical centre at Deception Bay this afternoon.
Around 2.45pm a man allegedly armed with a knife, entered the Zammit Street business making threats while demanding property.
A short time later, police attended the business and arrested the man.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
A 39-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, going armed so as to cause fear, and possession of a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on October 18.
A Taree man is due to appear in court after a store in north-western NSW was allegedly held up with a blood-filled syringe.
Police from Barwon Local Area Command issued an appeal for public assistance following the armed robbery of a discount store at Narrabri about 10.30am on Sunday 9 October 2016.
Police will allege a man armed with a blood-filled syringe threatened an 18-year-old woman working in the store, demanding cash.
Following investigations, a 21-year-old man was arrested at a home in Short Street, Taree, about 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 October 2016).
He was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.
The man was refused bail and will appear in Forster Local Court today (Thursday 20 October 2016).

Around 12.10pm, a staff member was threatened and jewellery stolen from the Wynnum Road store.

A man was arrested yesterday following investigations into three armed robberies and a carjacking in Sydney’s inner west.
Strike Force Karilla was commenced by detectives from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit to investigate the armed robberies in Petersham and Ashfield and a carjacking in Campsie earlier this month.
Police will allege that on Saturday 1 October 2016, a man entered a hotel on New Canterbury Road at Petersham, produced a knife and stole cash.
On Sunday (9 October 2016); a Holden Commodore was carjacked in Campsie. This car was seen during another hotel robbery on Liverpool Road, Ashfield where a knife was produced and cash stolen.
The following day (Monday 10 October 2016), a post office was held up on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, and another vehicle, a Toyota van, was stolen from a car park in Canterbury.
Following investigations, about 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday 11 October 2016), officers arrested a 39-year-old man in Belmore when he was sighted leaving the stolen Toyota and getting into the stolen Holden.
He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with armed robbery (x2), aggravated robbery (x2), illegal use of vehicle (x2), and malicious damage.
The man was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 12 October 2016).
Police are investigating an armed robbery in the state’s north where a blood filled syringe was used to threaten staff.
About 10.20am (Sunday 9 October 2016), an 18-year-old woman was working at a store on Maitland Street, Narrabri, when a man holding a blood filled syringe entered the store.
The male threatened the woman with the weapon and was handed an amount of cash. He then fled the scene.
Police believe that a man shown in a CCTV image can assist with their investigation.
The man is described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s and 170-175cm tall.
He is shown wearing black pants and a black jumper with a “Lonsdale” logo, a black cap, white socks and no shoes.
Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Cabramatta last night.
Shorty after 7.30pm (Saturday 8 October 2016), police were called to a store on McBurney Road, Cabramatta, following reports of an armed robbery.
Two men entered the store and one of the men, allegedly armed with a long tree branch, approached the shop assistant and demanded money from the cash register.
The men fled the store on foot with cash. No one was injured.
Officers attached to Cabramatta Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Police have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a newsagent at Nambour on September 23, 2016.
It is alleged during the incident a man armed with a meat cleaver entered the Currie Street business and made demands for money from the store attendant.
The store attendant produced a baseball bat and the offender then fled the store empty handed.

A 41-year-old man cleaning a business in Kirwan last night was slightly injured after he struggled with an armed man during an attempted robbery.
Around 11.30pm a man armed with a knife entered a leisure and bowling centre located in Bamford Lane and confronted a male employee, demanding money.
A struggle ensured between the pair resulting in the cleaning receiving several shallow laceration injuries to his chest area, before the offender fled on foot empty handed.
The injured man did not require medical treatment.
Investigations by Townsville detectives are continuing.
The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, approximately 188cms tall, with a proportionate build and aged in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey three quarter length pants.
