A man will face court today over the alleged armed robbery of a store in Sydney’s Inner West last month.
Just before 7.00am on Thursday 21 April 2016, officers attached to Marrickville Local Area Command were called to a store on Marrickville Road, Dulwich Hill, after reports of a robbery.
Police have been told two men entered the store, one armed with a firearm, and threatened a staff member and assaulted him.
They fled the location a short time later with cash.
About 10.45am yesterday (Saturday 14 May 2016), detectives from Marrickville Local Area Command attended a home on Truman Ave, Riverwood and arrested a 30-year-old man. He was taken to Campsie Police Station.
Officers executed a search warrant at the property, where they seized items that will now undergo forensic examination.
The man was charged with armed robbery in company and refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 15 May 2016).
Police are investigating after a fast food delivery driver was robbed at Inala last night.
Around 10.20pm the male driver was making a delivery at Kestrel Street when he was approached by a man armed with a knife who demanded cash and the food.
After handing over the food and some cash the man followed the delivery driver back to his car demanding further personal property from him.
A male passenger waiting in the delivery driver’s car challenged the armed man causing him to run towards a nearby car.
The passenger attempted unsuccessfully to prevent the armed man from driving away.
Neither the 20-year-old delivery driver, nor the 27-year-old passenger, were injured.
The man is described as Caucasian, 188cm tall and wearing a black coloured cap.
He was last seen driving away along Parakeet Street in a silver Hyundai Elantra bearing partial Queensland registration with an ‘8’.
Police have charged a man following the investigation of a Dunwich newsagency robbery on May 4.
It will be alleged around 1.55pm a man entered the front of the Ballow Street business closing a roller door behind him. The man approached a female shop assistant and produced a knife before demanding money from the employee. He man removed a quantity of money from the cash register and fled the store on foot.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing into the incident.
A 20-year-old Dunwich man was today charged with one count each of robbery, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and stealing.

It will be alleged around 7.30pm two men entered a cinema complex on Bullock Street and threatened two employees with a firearm before demanding money.
The two female staff members complied and the pair fled the scene on foot with a large sum of cash.
No one was physically injured.
A short time later police patrols located a man at a Caloundra residence where he was taken into custody.
A 22-year-old Aroona man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of enter premises to commit an indictable offence.
He has been remanded in police custody to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow, May 9.
The second man is described as being around 182cm tall and of slim build.
He was last seen wearing a hoodie, long pants and a pink mask covering his face.
Investigations are continuing.

The man is described as being aged his 20s, having an aboriginal appearance, 175 cm tall with dark eyes wearing dark jeans, dark hoodie and had a handkerchief or bandanna across his face.

Police have arrested a 41-year-old Queensland man in relation to alleged armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery which occurred in Reservoir and Ivanhoe last month.
The alleged incidents occurred at businesses on the Broadway in Reservoir on 17 April, Gilbert Road in Reservoir on 24 April and Waterdale Road in Ivanhoe on 22 April.
Investigators allege the man was also involved in an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant in McLeans Road, Bundoora earlier today.
The man was spotted by a member of the public riding a motorcycle on Bell Street around 12.30pm today and followed to a car park where police were called.
It is alleged that on police arrival the man attempted to ride off but was stopped by the member of the public and police.
He was arrested and has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, firearms offences and weapons offences.
The 41-year-old has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
