Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Coffs Harbour today.
About 4.40pm (Thursday 5 July 2018), a man, armed with a meat cleaver, entered a store in Park Avenue and threatened an employee.
He stole cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
No one was injured.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Police wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He has been described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his late 20s, 178cm tall, and of a medium build. The man was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper.
Anyone witnesses are urged to come forward.
Two teenagers have been charged over an alleged armed robbery on the state’s south coast yesterday.
About 5.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 July 2018), police will allege two males entered a store in Grant Street, Broulee; one armed with a firearm and a knife and the other holding a knife.
They allegedly threatened a staff member before stealing cash and alcohol.

Following inquiries, two teenagers were arrested in Broulee about 8.30pm yesterday and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.
A 17-year-old boy was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, and robbery armed with offensive weapon.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
They were both refused bail and are due to face a children’s court today (Thursday 5 July 2018).

Detectives are searching for a man who robbed an adult store on Wynnum Road in Cannon Hill on Tuesday night.

Police were told the man was seen leaving the area in a vehicle.
The car is described as being a dark blue Mitsubishi Magna, or similar.
The man is described as having a slim build and was wearing dark-coloured pants, a maroon-coloured top with white sleeves, black gloves and had his face covered.

He is depicted in the vision as being about 168cm tall, with a thin build.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a store in North Rockhampton earlier tonight.
Around 6.30pm, a man entered the Lakes Creek Road store in Koongal, armed with an iron bar and demanded money from two shop attendants.
He then left the business in an unknown direction with a sum of cash.
The 65-year-old male attendant and the 62-year-old female attendant were not physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as 175 to 180 centimetres tall with a slim build, wearing dark clothing, a black hat and carrying a backpack.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.
Two boys have been charged following the armed robbery of an Acacia Ridge bakery this afternoon.
It will be alleged that around 1.15pm, a boy entered the Mortimer Road business and threatened a male staff member with a baseball bat.
He allegedly demanded money before jumping over the counter and grabbing money out of a basket and fled the scene on foot.
He was later joined by a younger boy who police allege may have been acting as a look out for the other.
Witnesses assisted police determine the direction they had fled, and a police dog and their handler was able to track them to a home nearby.
Both boys – a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old – were conveyed to Acacia Ridge police station and charged with armed robbery.
