Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a bottle shop in East Keilor last month.

Investigators have been told a man entered the store on Centreway just after 7pm on 15 December armed with a machete.

He then demanded cash and cigarettes from the male attendant, however no money was handed over.

The offender, believed to be in his 20s, fled the scene with one stolen packet of cigarettes and was last seen running south on Wingara Road.

No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives from Fawkner Embona are investigating and have released images and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man, who was wearing a black balaclava at the time of the incident, is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with a thin build and short brown hair.

He was wearing dark pants, dark shoes and a distinctive fluorescent orange top during the armed robbery.

 

Police have released CCTV footage following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Docklands this morning.

Investigators have been told a man allegedly threatened staff at the Lorimer Street supermarket with a sawn-off shotgun and made demands for cash about 8.15am.

The man stole cash and other groceries and left on foot.

He travelled east on Lorimer Street and was last seen heading north on Wurundjeri Way.

The offender is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, about 172cm tall, aged between 25-35 with a thin build.

He was wearing a black hoodie with a green motif on front, dark pants and black and white shoes.

The man was carrying a large red backpack with black straps.

Detectives from Glen Eira Bayside Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery at an Ormond jewellery store last month.

The alleged robbery took place in Katandra Road about 1.30pm on 24 November, where a man armed with a firearm made demands to a staff member for a safe to be opened.

The victim refused and an altercation allegedly took place where the victim was struck on the head with the firearm.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the morning of Friday 16 December morning at a residential address in Stephanie Court, Carrum Downs where a 59-year-old Carrum Downs man was arrested.

The man was charged with armed robbery and other associated offences; and has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 21 December.

Police are investigating after a taxi driver was attacked in Essendon last night.

The 33-year-old male driver stopped to pick up a passenger after being hailed in Russell Street at 9.15pm.

The driver drove a short distance before the passenger produced a knife, held it to the victim’s throat and demanded money.

A struggle ensued and the driver sustained cuts to his hand.

The offender fled and the driver was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

Earlier that evening, police believe the same offender produced a knife in a taxi in Andrea Street, St Albans, about 6pm.

The offender, a man, stole cash and fled.

The 28-year-old driver was not injured.

Investigators have released images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the robberies.

Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery at a Reservoir supermarket yesterday.

A 20-year-old Reservoir man has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, assault with a weapon, threat to inflict serious injury, assault, assault police and possess controlled weapon.

He faced Melbourne Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was remanded to appear again on 3 March, 2017.

The incident occurred at the Edwardes Street store about 11.10am.

After the man entered the store, he allegedly threatened staff with a knife and made demands for cash, however workers were able to detain him until police arrive.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Detectives from Darebin Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and believe a number of people who may have witnessed the incident left the supermarket before police arrived.

Investigators would like to speak to those people and are urging them to come forward.

Police have released CCTV and images following an armed robbery in Dandenong North last month.

Investigators have been told a man attended the Stud Road service station just after midnight on 29 November.

The man pressed the buzzer and was let in by staff, once inside he put a balaclava on, produced a large knife and demanded cash from the till.

The staff member complied and the man left the store.

The offender is described as Caucasian, 20-30-years-old and was wearing a black hooded top, grey track pants and black runners.

He was seen nearby getting into a dark coloured car, possibly a Hyundai Getz.

Fawkner Embona detectives have arrested four males after two armed robberies on service stations yesterday.

One of the armed robberies was on Leakes Road in Truganina about 2.40am where it’s alleged cigarettes and cash were stolen.

The second was on Milleara Road in East Kielor about 3.15am where it’s alleged cigarettes and cash were stolen and a staff member assaulted.

The offenders fled in a vehicle but two were arrested about 4.30am in Roxburgh Park.

An 18-year-old Meadow Heights man has been charged with armed robbery, theft of motor vehicle and recklessly cause injury.

He was bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 1 December.

A 16-year-old Craigieburn boy was charged with armed robbery and theft of motor vehicle, theft and unlicensed driving.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Search warrants were executed in Roxburgh Park and the other two males were arrested.

A 15-year-old Roxburgh Park boy has been charged with numerous offences including armed robbery, reckless conduct endanger serious injury and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

And a 16-year-old Roxburgh Park boy has been charged with armed robbery and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a video store in Kennington last Wednesday.

A man armed with a small hatchet entered the shop, at the corner of Somerville and Townsend streets, and demanded cash from the staff member about 7.55pm.

A small amount of money was handed over and the offender fled, grabbing several video games on his way out.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Ormond this afternoon.

Investigators have been told an unknown man wearing a balaclava attended a jewellery store on Katandra Road about 1.40pm and confronted a staff member inside the store.

Police have been told the offender was armed with a firearm and made demands for a safe to be opened.

The victim refused and there has been altercation where it is believed the victim has been hit on the head with the firearm.

The victim then fled next door while the unknown man ransacked the shop.

A staff member from the store next door returned to the jewellery store and confronted the offender who was fleeing on foot.

The staff member chased the offender down the street armed with a broom.

The offender has then left the scene in a black Mazda 3 sedan travelling north along Katandra Road.

The jewellery store owner received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a 39-year-old man following an armed robbery at a gaming venue in Wonthaggi last Saturday night.

It is alleged the man armed with a firearm entered the club on Graham Street about 11.40pm and stole an amount of cash.

It is also alleged the man attempted to rob the Wonthaggi golf course on 19 November.

The Wonthaggi man has been charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.

He will appear at the Morwell Magistrates’ Court today.
