Altona North Armed Robbery Taskforce detectives have charged three men in relation to a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
These include three armed robberies on adult entertainment establishments in Footscray West, Brooklyn and Hoppers Crossing, an armed robbery on a service station in Laverton and an armed robbery on an adult entertainment store in Footscray between 26 September and 12 November 2013.
Three men aged 28, 27 and 19 from Truganina have been charged with armed robbery and other related offences.
They will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this morning.
Police have arrested three youths following an alleged armed robbery on a fast food restaurant in Frankston North earlier this morning.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at the Golf Links Road restaurant around 1am.
Two boys, both aged 16, and a 15-year-old boy, all from Frankston, have been charged by police with armed robbery and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Police are hoping to track down thieves who used stolen credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars in purchases during an illegal shopping spree in Warrnambool.
The opportunistic thieves are believed to have broken into a van parked overnight on Hider Street on 29 September, stealing a wallet which had been kept hidden under a blanket.
Investigators believe the thieves used credit cards inside the wallet to make purchases of around $1800 at various stores at a shopping centre on Raglan Parade the next day.
Items purchased include a wireless computer keyboard and the Grand Theft Auto Playstation game.
Warrnambool Police are investigating the incident and have released CCTV images of a man and a woman they believe may be assist them with their investigation.
The woman police wish to speak to is believed to be aged in her 40s with a solid build and brown, shoulder-length hair.
She was wearing glasses and a pink top with a black jacket at the time of the incident.
Investigators are also seeking a man aged in his late 30s and around 183-189cm tall.
He was wearing a green and blue jumper and a blue baseball cap.
The pair had a girl with them, believed to be aged between 10-12 with dark brown hair and a solid build.
She was wearing a purple and pink striped jumper at the time of the incident.
Detectives from Prahran Embona are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at an Albert Park service station yesterday morning.
Two male offenders entered the Ferrars Street premises around 2.45am, one armed with a knife, the other believed to be wielding a tomahawk.
The man in possession of the axe, described as being aged around 30-35, made demands for the till whilst the younger male, thought to be in his mid 20s, tried to gain entry to the service area.
The attendant denied the man access behind the counter and as he and the other male fled the store, he stole a number of packets of Tim Tams from the shelf.
The men, who also wore stockings over their heads, were last seen on foot heading east on Bridport Street and are yet to be located.
Investigators are hoping that the men may be identified by their distinctive clothing, in particular the green hooded top worn by the younger of the men.
Detectives from the Darebin Criminal Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a milk bar in Thornbury today.
Police have been told a man entered the milk bar on Spencer Street around 8.50am.
It is believed the man was armed with a knife and leaned over the counter to retrieve money.
The offender obtained a small amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
He was last seen running south through various laneways near Spencer Street, including: Emmaline Street, St Georges Road and Beaconsfield Parade.
No one was injured during the incident.
The offender was wearing a bandanna at the time of the robbery.
Police are investigating an armed robbery at a sporting club event in Mulgrave yesterday.
Around 10.40am a male has approached the registration tent on Glenvale Crescent and made a demand for cash, threatening the two female attendants with a hammer.
The man grabbed a quantity of cash and ran off, through a grassed area and on to Enterprise Court.
He then got into a silver Holden Commodore and was seen driving west along Wellington Road towards Springvale Road.

Fawkner Embona has released images of a man and is appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Gladstone Park three weeks ago.
Detectives have been told that a man entered a bank, located in the Gladstone Park Shopping Centre, and waited in the queue on Friday 11 October about 11am.
The man approached the counter, when called for his turn, and gave the bank teller a hand written note demanding a substantial amount of money.
Security screens were activated and the bandit fled empty handed.
The wanted man was last seen getting into the drivers seat of a gold coloured Mazda Astina, believed to be a 2000 model and bearing stolen registration plates.
It was last seen heading west on Mickleham Road in Tullamarine.
The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s to mid 30s, unshaven with a large build and tanned complexion.
He was wearing an orange workman’s hard hat, black t-shirt with a white motif, yellow high visibility vest, grey tracksuit pants with stripes down the leg, black puma running shoes, grey coloured gardening type gloves and clear coloured safety glasses.
Police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Detectives from Fawkner Embona are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a business in Coolaroo on Sunday morning.
Investigators have been told that two males entered through the front door of the premises on Motto Drive around 12.30am.
One of the males confronted the 38-year-old male staff member with an edged weapon and demanded cash, causing minor injuries to his upper arm.
Both offenders then ran from the business and left in a vehicle.
The offenders are perceived as being of African appearance and around 175cm tall.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to an aggravated robbery at Australia Post, Plympton, on 24 August.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Task Force arrested and charged the Northfield man on Wednesday, 16 October.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Adelaide Magistrate’s Court on 17 December.

Investigators have been told a man entered a Sydney Road liquor store, armed with what was believed to be a syringe, about 2.45pm.
The attendant was threatened before handing over an amount of cash to the offender who fled the store on foot.
The wanted man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, with a thin to medium build, believed aged in his 30s and spoke with an Australian accent.
He was wearing a light coloured baseball cap, black hooded jumper with a ‘Lonsdale’ logo, jeans and white and black runners.
Police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
