Two 17-year-old men have been charged following the armed robbery of a business in Edge Hill last night.

It will be alleged that the pair entered the video store on Woodward Street just before 9.30pm with their identities concealed and demanded cash from the attendant.

When the attendant refused, it will be further alleged that one of the men produced a hatchet and the other produced a knife.

The attendant then complied and the men left the store on-foot with a sum of cash, running south on Pease Street, toward Greenslopes Street.

Both men were apprehended by Cairns Dog Squad officers near Oxley Street.

Both 17-year-old Redlynch men have been charged with one count each of armed robbery and will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating after a man was robbed at knife point in Warrawong yesterday.

About 3.30pm on Monday 28 July, 2014 a 25-year-old man was working at a video shop in King Street when another man entered the store brandishing a knife.

The offender demanded cash and was given money from the register. He then fled from the store with the proceeds of the robbery and was last seen running towards Todd Street.

No one was injured during the incident

Police were contacted and officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police conducted a search for the man and conducted a canvass of nearby premises

Investigators have released a description of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiry.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance in his 20s with a thin to medium build. He is between 175cm and 183cm tall and was unshaven.

Anyone with information about the man or the robbery is urged to contact police immediately.

Shortly after 8.30pm on Monday 21 July 2014 a young man entered the Himalayan Kitchen on Invermay Road Mowbray armed with a metal bar.

He demanded money while threatening staff with the metal bar. While the man was demanding money, his accomplice, a woman, entered the restaurant and then both offenders then left with a small amount of cash. They got in to an older model white Mitsubishi Magna sedan parked on the street with other people inside and drove off at speed.

Both the man and woman were described as being in the early teens.

At about 9pm two men entered Blockbuster Video at Kings Meadows with a metal bar and demanded cash from the attendant. One offender went behind the counter and took a small amount of cash from the till and the attendant’s mobile phone was stolen as the offenders were both leaving through the main door.

The men were seen getting into an older model white Mitsubishi Magna sedan which again sped off out of the car park with other people inside the vehicle.

Both men in this robbery were described as being in their mid to late teens.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a video store on Peachey Road, Smithfield Plains.

About 8.50pm, two men, one allegedly armed with a machete, threatened staff and stole a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

The men were wearing hooded tops, jeans and had bandanas or similar over their faces.

Both are described as Caucasian and in their early 20’s.

Fortunately no one was physically injured and the men were last seen heading north.

Detectives from Bundaberg CIB are investigating the armed robbery of a video store in Bundaberg overnight.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that around 8.45pm a man entered the store on Maryborough Street and demanded money from the two female attendants, while armed with a knife.

The women complied and the man left the store with a sum of cash.

The man is described as being around 175cm tall, with a proportionate build and tanned olive skin. He was last seen wearing a black hooded long-sleeved shirt and part of his face was concealed with a black piece of material.

Nobody received any physical injuries. Investigations are continuing.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Currimundi earlier tonight.

A man entered a video store on Nicklin Way around 7.20pm. He approached the 21-year-old staff member and pushed over a sign near the counter. The man made threats to the worker and indicated he was armed. The staff member complied with demands for money and the stolen cash was placed in a bag before the man ran from the store.

He was last seen riding a bicycle along Nicklin Way.

Police are searching for a man described a being 20 to 24-years-old, Caucasian appearance, approximately 180cm tall, unshaven and wearing sunglasses. The man was wearing black and white chequered pants and a white button up tunic.

No one was injured during the robbery. Investigations are continuing.

Police are currently at the scene of a robbery at Woodville Park. Just after 8pm, a man entered the Video Ezy store on David Terrace and threatened staff with what was believed to be sword. He fled on foot with an amount of cash. The suspect is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, about 35 years, slim build, about 170cm tall with black curly hair. Police from Ashfield Local Area Command are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery of a video store at Summer Hill.

About 1.45pm yesterday (Sunday 5 January 2014), a man entered the store on Hardie Avenue armed with a knife.

He demanded money from the 23-year-old female employee before leaving with a sum of cash.

No one was injured.

The man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, between 165-175cm tall, with a light complexion and thin build. At the time he was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and dark pants.

Police have been told the man was seen leaving in a large white sedan.

ACT Policing arrested a 33-year-old Palmerston man following an aggravated robbery in Gungahlin yesterday (Saturday, November 2).

Around 11.05am the man entered the Civic Video Gungahlin store and threatened a staff member with an object wrapped in a plastic bag, claimed to be handgun, demanding cash.

The staff member complied, handing over a sum of cash.

Police attended shortly after and reviewed CCTV footage of the area. Based on information gathered, police arrested a man in Palmerston before executing a search warrant on a nearby house in Kosciuszko Avenue where police seized items in relation to the offence.

The arrested man was taken to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a prohibited substance.

He will face ACT Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Monday, November 4). Police will oppose bail.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are currently at the scene of an aggravated robbery at Ridgehaven. At about 8pm, a man armed with a knife entered the Blockbuster video store on North East Road and demanded money. He escaped with an amount of cash, and was last seen running south-east away from the store towards Modbury, along a creek at the rear of the store. No one was injured during the incident.
