Northern Territory Police have arrested a 31-year-old man following an armed robbery at a Jingili service station.

The man was arrested in Nightcliff around 12:10pm following a pursuit through the Darwin and rural area.

He is currently in custody assisting police with enquiries.

Police have arrested and charged two people over a robbery at Glengowrie this morning.

Police were called to an Oaklands Road service station about 5.45am on Wednesday 6 September after a man entered the store with a hammer and jumped the counter.

The man was grabbed by a member of the public as he tried to run out of the store empty handed and held him until patrols arrived. A second male was seen waiting outside the service station who ran off soon after the man was apprehended.

Patrols cordoned off the area and searched for the second suspect with the assistance of Dog Operations officers and PD Ink, who was last seen running east on Oaklands Road.

The second suspect was not located at the time however subsequent investigations led police to a Largs North home where he was arrested.

A 19-year-old man from Park Holme and a 17-year-old boy from Largs North were charged with aggravated robbery and they will both appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station south of Sydney overnight.

About 10pm (Tuesday 29 August 2017), a man armed with a knife entered the service station on King Street, Warrawong, and confronted the store attendant.

The 23-year-old man locked himself in a store room whilst the armed men stolen a number of items before fleeing.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police would now like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm – 170cm tall, and of a medium build. He was wearing grey coloured clothing.

Three children have been charged with an armed robbery in the Illawarra early this morning.

Police have been told just before 1am (Friday 11 August 2017), three boys entered a service station on Winnama Way, Berkeley, armed with knives.

The boys have allegedly threatened the employee with of the boys striking the employee with the butt of a knife.

The boys then left the store in possession of cash and cigarettes.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were alerted to the incident.

Following investigations, three boys, aged 13, 14 and 14, were arrested at a home on Northcliffe Drive and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

They have all been charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon

All three boys will all appear before a children’s court today (Friday 11 August 2017).

Police have released CCTV vision of the armed robbery of a service station at Waterford West last month in a bid to identify the man involved.

At around 6.20am on July 14 a man can be seen and heard entering the Kingston Road business and threatening an employee with a knife before demanding cash.

The employee refused and the man left empty handed apart from some chocolate bars he took from the counter.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cms tall with a slim build and aged between 40-55 years of age.

The man was wearing a black hoodie, with a black cloth covering the bottom half of his face, black pants and carrying a black backpack.

No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.

Anyone who may recognise the man in the footage is being urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.

 

Elizabeth Police have released CCTV images of a suspect following a service station robbery at Pooraka overnight.

Just before midnight on Thursday 3 August, patrols were called to a service station on Main North Road after a man entered and threatened staff with a knife demanding cash.

The man left the service station on foot running west with an amount of cash. Police patrols and police dog Roy searched the area but have been unable to locate the man at this time.

No one was physically injured and investigations are continuing.

The suspect captured on service station CCTV is described as being 180-185cm tall, medium build, and dark skinned. He was wearing a dark jumper with white writing on the front, dark pants and had his face partially covered.

Suspect re Pooraka robbery

Brimbank Embona detectives are investigating a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s north-west suburbs over the weekend.

Three service stations were targeted by a group of up to seven men in Hillside, Laverton North and Rockbank.

In the first incident, seven men smashed their way into a service station on the Melton Highway in Hillside just after 3am on Saturday.

The group attempted to smash their way into the cigarette cabinets but failed to gain entry, instead stealing the attendant’s car.

The attendant was in the cool room at the time of the incident and was uninjured.

Thirty minutes later, it’s believed the same men targeted another service station in Laverton North.

The group have entered the Little Boundary Road petrol station armed with a knife, baseball bat and hammers just before 3.30am, stealing cigarettes and a cash register.

The attendant locked himself in a back room and was uninjured.

In the latest incident, six men armed with hammers attended the Melton Highway servo just before 3.30am on Sunday.

They stole the cash register and cigarettes before fleeing in a black SUV and silver sedan.

No one was injured during the incident.

At this early stage in the investigation, detectives are treating all three incidents as linked.

Police have released CCTV and images of a number of men they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Northern Territory Police are calling for information on the whereabouts of 50-year-old Gavin Rankin.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karl Day said police are wanting to speak to Gavin in relation to a number of aggravated robberies that occurred over the past week.

“The most recent incident involved a male entering the BP Palms service station just after 11:00pm yesterday and threating a staff member with a knife.

“The male fled the area with a quantity of cash, food and cigarettes.

“Police believe this incident, an incident at a Smith Street service station on Saturday 29 July and an incident in a Smith Street massage parlour on Friday 28 July are linked.

“We are asking all members of the public, including service stations and licensed premises to be on the lookout for Gavin.

“We believe he is currently in the Darwin area but may travel interstate.”

 

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall and of medium build with short dark hair and possible facial hair.

A man has been charged after an armed robbery in Lismore.

About 6pm on Saturday 15 July 2017, a man entered a service station on Ballina Road, Lismore, armed with a screwdriver.

He threatened the attendant with the weapon and demanded cash. He was handed a sum of money and cigarettes.

Lismore Detectives commenced an investigation.

About 10.30am today (Tuesday 1 August 2017), a 19-year-old man was brought to Lismore Police through the Department of Corrective Services.

He was placed into police custody and subsequently charged with armed robbery.

He was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on Monday 14 August 2017.
