Elizabeth police are investigating a robbery at a Smithfield service station overnight.
Just before 2.50am police were called to a service station on Main North Road after reports a man had entered armed with a pointed weapon and threatened the staff.
The offender verbally threatened the two staff members before jumping the counter and taking money from the cash register.
The man, who is described as being of aboriginal appearance, wearing gloves, a dark coloured hooded jumper and a bandana over his face, ran off after stealing the money.
Police searched the area with the assistance of a police dog but were unable to locate the man.
Thankfully no one was physically injured during the incident.
Police have arrested five males following a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s southern suburbs late last night.
The alleged incidents are as follows:
• An armed robbery at a service station on Blackburn Road near Ferntree Gully Road in Notting Hill about 11.05pm;
• An armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Westall Road near Osborne Avenue in Springvale about 11.35pm;
• An armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Edithvale Road near Wells Road in Chelsea Heights about 11.45pm.
Two of the men were arrested on Dulcie Court in Noble Park North about 12.55am this morning.
The remaining three men were arrested a short time later on Alamein Street in Noble Park with the assistance of the Canine Unit.
Rocky, one of the dogs involved, completed his first arrest.
Five males, three 17-year-olds, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, are currently in custody and are assisting police with their enquiries.
Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in Craigieburn on 14 April.
The 27-year-old New South Wales man was arrested in relation to an armed robbery at a service station on Hanson Road about 8pm.
He has been charged and remanded to appear in court on 20 April.
Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery in St Andrews last year.
About 9.20pm on Saturday 17 December 2016, two men entered a service station on Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews, armed with a knife and baseball bat.
Police have been told they threatened staff, before fleeing towards Saggart Reserve, St Andrews.
Following inquiries, detectives attached to Macquarie Fields Local Area Command have released images of two males who may be able to assist their investigation.
The first male is described as being of medium to large build, with short dark hair, and holding a knife. He was last seen wearing a black and white balaclava across his face, a high visibility yellow long sleeve shirt with black sleeves, black tracksuit paints with two white stripes down both legs, black joggers and light coloured full finger gardening gloves.
The second male is described as being of medium build, and was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants with two white stripes down both legs, black joggers and light full finger gardening gloves.
The two men are believed to frequent the Fairfield area.
Logan Detectives have arrested a man following the alleged armed robbery of a petrol station in Underwood where a vehicle was driven into the business on Saturday morning.
It will be alleged around 4.30am the man entered the Logan Road business with another man and threatened the male console operator whilst brandishing a hammer. A third man waited inside the vehicle.
The men fled with a sum of cash and some cigarettes. No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police believe that the three men were involved in a similar type offence at a petrol station on Compton Road, Kuraby that same morning.
Investigations led police to an address in Waterford West where they arrested a 31-year-old Logan Central man in relation to both incidents.
The 31-year-old man was charged with two counts of wilful damage and one count each of armed robbery in company and enter premises with intent. He is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
Investigators are continuing.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Blacksoil last night.
At 9.45pm, a male armed with a gun entered the Warrego Highway business, approached a staff member who was in the cold room and demanded cash.
He left the scene on foot with a quantity of money.
The male is described as having a fair complexion, aged in his late teens, had a black shirt covering his face, and was wearing black pants, a black shirt and a white hat.
Investigations are continuing.
Detectives are investigating an armed robbery of a service station early this morning at Wishart.
Preliminary investigations indicate a man entered the business on Newnham Road shortly after 12 midnight armed with an unknown implement.
The man demanded money from the employees and fled the scene on foot with a quantity of cash.
No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Cohuna on Saturday evening.
Investigators have been told a man armed with a knife attended a service station on the Murray Valley Highway near Keelys Road about 5.40pm.
He made demands and fled the store with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
The man, who had his face covered, then fled the store in what is believed to be a silver-coloured sedan.
The vehicle was last seen heading towards Leitchville on Keelys Road.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of an Edmonton service station.
Around 1pm, a man entered the Bruce Highway business and requested cigarettes from a staff member.
As she turned to get them, the man pulled a large knife from under his clothes and demanded cash.
The staff member refused to comply, and the man then fled the shop with the cigarettes.
Police patrolled the area shortly after but have yet to locate the man.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police have charged a man and woman following the alleged armed robbery of a service station at Coorparoo early this morning.
It will be alleged around 12.40am a man entered the Old Cleveland Road business, approached the counter and produced a knife, demanding money.
The 30-year-old male console operator complied and handed over a sum of cash.
The man then left the premises and allegedly fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.
Police later sighted this vehicle driving on Logan Road, Mt Gravatt where it was intercepted.
The two occupants, a man and a woman, were taken into custody without incident.
A 48-year-old Wynnum man and a 45-year-old woman from Marsden have both has been charged with armed robbery in compnay. Both are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
