Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a service station in Smithfield overnight.
Just before midnight (Saturday 10 May 2014), a man entered the service station on the Cumberland Highway and threatened the attendant with a knife.
The man fled the location a short time later with cash and was last seen running north along Little Street.
The attendant was not injured during the incident.
Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command were called and launched an investigation.
Police and specialist officers from the Dog Unit conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area but the man was not found.
A crime scene was established at the location and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist in the investigation.
The man is described as being of Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern appearance, about 30-35 years of age, around 175cm tall, unshaven, with a solid build.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded zip up jumper with a striped shirt underneath, beige shorts and a grey cap.
Anyone who knows the identity of the man or has any information that could assist police is urged to come forward.
Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a service station in McGraths Hill.
Just before 9.30pm yesterday (Friday 9 May 2014), two men – one armed with a meat cleaver – entered the service station, which is located on Windsor Road.
They forced the male cashier onto the ground in the console area. One of the men then filled a bag with cigarettes.
The men asked the cashier where the safe was located, at which time he ran outside, locked the front door behind him, and called Triple Zero.
The offenders escaped the premises by smashing the panel of a garage door. They then fled the scene in a dark-coloured sedan with black and white number plates.
Police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their investigations into this incident.
The first man is described as being about 175 centimetres tall and with a slim build. The second man is described as being 165 centimetres tall and with a slim build.
A male employee of an Eight Mile Plains service station was robbed by a man armed with a knife last night.
Around 7.30pm a man entered the Padstow Road business and demanded money from a male employee.
He fled soon after with a sum of cash. The man(pictured) is described as Caucasian, approximately 30-years-old, 180cms tall with a slim build and fair skin. The man was wearing a black coloured t-shirt, three-quarter length denim shorts, sneakers and a black cap.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.

Police arrested a woman overnight following a robbery at a service station at Fulham Gardens overnight.
Just after 10pm, a woman entered the On The Run on Tapleys Hill Road and threatened the console operator.
The suspect left with an amount of cash and was seen to get into a silver Mitsubishi Lancer sedan and drive off.
No weapons were sighted.
Then just before 1am, a woman matching the description attempted to rob the Mobil service station at Underdale and then the BP service station at Fulham a short time later.
Anticipating the woman may attempt another robbery, patrols made their way to several service stations.
Just after 1am, police spotted the woman and the silver Lancer at the BP On The Run service station on the corner of Marion Road and Anzac Highway at Plympton.
A 52-year-old woman from Grange was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.
She has been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 29 May.
No one was injured.

Sturt Police are investigating a service station robbery at South Plympton last night. At about 9.20pm a man armed with a knife entered the service station on Marion Road and demanded cigarettes. Staff handed over several cartons of cigarettes and the suspect ran off. No one was physically injured during the incident. A police dog patrol attended the scene with patrols and searched the area but could not find the suspect. The suspect is described as having a Caucasian appearance, about six feet tall and having a weathered appearance. Two men and a woman have been arrested following investigations into a string of alleged armed robberies in Sydney and the state’s south over the last four weeks.
About 6pm, Tuesday 22 April 2014, two men entered a take away store on the corner of Padman Drive and Gulson Street, Albury, armed with knives.
When the attendant ran from the store, the two men allegedly took cash and fled the scene in a car driven by a woman.
Officers from Albury Local Area Command were called and commenced investigations.
About 12.30am, Friday 2 May 2014, a woman entered a service station on Henry Street, Penrith and allegedly lured the attendant away from the counter, before leaving the premises.
A short time later, two men entered the service station, allegedly armed with a knife, and demanded cash.
They then ran from the scene with cash and cigarettes. Police were called and a crime scene was established.
At 8.10pm, Monday 5 May 2014, two men armed with a knife entered a bottle shop on Kaitlers Road, Springdale Heights, and allegedly demanded cash.
They ran from the scene a short time later, taking cash. Officers were called and commenced investigations.
Between 11.45am, Monday 5 May 2014 and 2pm Tuesday 6 May 2014, two men entered a home on Klose Street, Lavington, where they allegedly stole personal items, including jewellery.
They fled the scene and police were called.
Following investigations, about 3pm, Tuesday 6 May 2014, two men and a woman were arrested at a store in High Street, Wodonga, by Victorian Police. NSW Police sought and were granted permission to extradite the trio to NSW.
The two men, a 27-year-old from Albury and a 31-year-old from Doonside, were charged with three counts of robbery in company and aggravated break and enter, commit serious indictable offence.
The woman, a 30-year-old from Culcairn, was charged with two counts of robbery in company.
All three were refused bail, to appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 8 May 2014).
Police are appealing for assistance after an armed robbery at a service station near Mt Druitt yesterday.
About 4.20pm (Sunday 4 May 2014) two men entered the premises on Luxford Road at Lethbridge Park.
One of the men, armed with a knife, approached the attendant and demanded he open the cash register.
The attendant complied and the two men took cash from the register before running from the scene.
The first man has been described as 183cm tall, medium build, Caucasian appearance, wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, blue full length jeans, black balaclava covering nose and lower part of face and black and white coloured bike type gloves.
The second man has been described as 183cm tall, medium build, Caucasian appearance, wearing a blue coloured hooded jumper (with three C’s across the front) and bone coloured long pants with pockets on each leg just below the knees

About 8.40pm (Saturday 3 May 2014), two men wearing balaclavas entered a service station on Arthur Street and threatened the male attendant with a knife, demanding money.
The attendant complied with the pair’s demands and they were last seen running towards Hawkins Street with cash, cigarettes, cigarette lighters, and tobacco.
Police from Orana Local Area Command attended the service station and established a crime scene.
Detectives would now like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man is described as being aged between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 175cm tall, with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, jeans, and a multi-coloured striped beanie.
The second man is described as being aged between 30 and 40 years old and approximately 178cm tall. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper.
Police have arrested two 16-year-old female youths – one from Gilles Plains, the other from Elizabeth East and an 18-year-old man from Elizabeth Vale for aggravated robbery at an Elizabeth service station last night.
About 10pm, one of the girls and the male entered the store on Playford Boulevard and threatened staff with a knife demanding money.
The attendant refused their demands and told them to leave.
They did, but helped themselves to some packets of chips on the way out.
Quick work by police led to all three being arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
It is expected all three will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates and Youth Court some time today.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to an armed robbery in Kenthurst late last night.
About 10.45pm (Thursday 1 May 2014), an attendant, a 28-year-old man, was working in a service station on Kenthurst Street when two men entered the shop.
The two men threatened the attendant with a knife and demanded cash.
He complied handing over a sum of cash and cigarettes, the men then fled from the area in a blue sedan.
Police were contacted and officers from The Hills Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.
A crime scene was established and examined by forensic specialists.
The attendant was not injured during the incident.
One of the men was described as wearing a red jumper and blue pants with his face covered.
The other man was described as wearing a black hooded jumper and dark pants
Investigators would like to speak to anyone with any information about the robbery or witnessed the incident to contact the authorities.
