Police are appealing for witnesses after a man attempted to rob a woman in a car park at Campbelltown this morning.
About 9.55am (Friday 18 September 2015), a 34-year-old woman was sitting in her car, at a car park at a shopping centre on Gilchrist Drive, when a man approached the driver’s door.
The man threatened the woman with a knife and demanded cash, she refused and the man became agitated before walking away.
The woman attended Campbelltown Police Station and reported the incident, and officers commenced an investigation.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery or has information that may assist with their inquiries to contact Crime Stoppers.
The man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 30’s, of slim build, between 173cm and 179cm tall and stubble on his face. He was wearing a red hooded jacket and denim jeans.
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this evening in Chermside.
At 7.45pm, two men entered a discount store on Gympie Road and threatened staff.
They made demands for cash, and when staff has complied the men then fled the store on foot.
No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
Investigations are continuing.
Detectives have released a new image of a woman who may be able to assist with their investigation into the armed robbery of a Kippa Ring gift shop last month.
Around 12pm on August 3 a woman entered the Anzac Avenue business and produced a knife, demanding money from a female staff member.
The employee complied with the demands and the woman stole a sum of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The woman is described as Caucasian, approximately 165cm tall, of thin build with sun weathered skin, curly grey/brown hair tied in a bun and discoloured front teeth.
Police believe the woman might also be able to assist with a stealing incident also on Anzac Avenue in August at Mango Hill.
Police are investigating an incident at Cairns this evening where a shop keeper was threatened with a syringe.
Initial investigations reveal at about 5:30pm a man entered the business on Reservoir Road Manoora and threatened a staff member with a syringe. The female staff member has screamed and a customer who had just left the store returned.
The man with the syringe has then fled the store and was last seen heading north west across Reservoir Road.
The man is described as in his twenties, 160cm, of Caucasian appearance and slim build.
Anyone who may have witness the man near the store or has further information in relation to the matter is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police are investigating an armed robbery of a seafood street vendor on Logan Road in Eight Mile Plains this afternoon.
Around 3.30pm two men, one allegedly armed with a TASER, approached the vendor and made demands for cash. The female attendant complied with demands and the men drove away with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
Police have arrested two men following investigations into an attempted armed robbery in Southport and an armed robbery in Coombabah yesterday.
Around 6.15am it will be alleged two men entered a Pine Ridge Road store armed with a metal bar and made demands for money. The male shop attendant complied with demands and the men allegedly fled the store with a sum of cash.
Then, around 2.20pm it will be alleged a man entered a Davenport Street business armed with a knife and made demands for money. The female shop attendant ran to the back of the store and the man fled the scene empty handed.
No one was physically injured either during the incident.
Detectives located and took two men into custody last night at two separate residences in Labrador.
A 23-year-old Labrador man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and possession of dangerous drugs.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates court today.
A 25-year-old man is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Salamander Bay this morning.
About 4.10am (Monday 7 September) two men, aged 67 and 55, were at a premises on Soldiers Point Road.
They were at the rear of the premises when the alarm sounded. The 67-year-old entered to see two men, both armed with a knife and a sledgehammer.
The 67-year-old armed himself with a broomstick and confronted the pair.
The pair attempted to unlock the safe with the sledgehammer before demanding the 67-year-old open it.
The 67-year-old told police he was threatened by the pair, striking one of them with the broomstick.
They attempted to open the safe again before taking off with cigarettes.
Officers attached to Port Stephens Local Area Command attended the scene and commenced an investigation.
The first man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 18 and 25, around 178cm tall and of thin build. He was seen wearing a black ski mask and a black long sleeve mask and black pants.
The other man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 18 and 25, 178cm tall, with a thin build and was seen wearing black clothing with a white hoodie pulled over his head as well as a light covered cloth covering his face.
Police are appealing for information after a pizza delivery man was robbed in Kingswood yesterday.
Just after 5.20pm (Wednesday 19 August 2015), a 37-year-old pizza delivery man arrived at a unit block on Rodgers Street to deliver a pizza order.
Police have been told the man entered the unit block, when he approached a man believed to be the customer.
The man produced a machete and the delivery man ran from the scene, leaving the delivery.
The armed man took the pizzas and was last seen running towards the Great Western Highway.
Officers attached to St Marys Local Area Command were called and commenced investigations.
As police continue their inquiries, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 25-35 years old, about 180cm tall, and of slim build.
The man was seen wearing a spray jacket and matching pants.
Police investigating two armed robberies in Sydney, one in which a shot was fired, have now released CCTV as their inquiries into the matter continue.
In the first incident, about 4.45am on Monday 3 August 2015, three men entered a convenience store on George Street, Sydney, and threatened the male shopkeeper with a shotgun, demanding cash.
When they were unable to open the register, the men took the shopkeeper’s wallet and drove from the scene in a white Volvo XC90 4WD, which is believed to be stolen.
The second robbery occurred about 5.40am on Friday 7 August 2015, when two men entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Paddington, armed with a shotgun.
The men demanded cash from the male attendant. They left a short time later after taking money from the till and the worker’s wallet.
As the men ran from the store, the attendant followed. The armed man then fired a single shot toward the attendant before running from the scene.
No one was injured in either incident.
Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit are now investigating both incidents and believe they may be linked.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a Zillmere newsagency this morning.
Around 10am a man armed with a firearm entered the Handford Road business and ordered the female shop assistant to stand aside so he could take money from a cash register.
The man fled on foot with a sum of cash. He dropped some of the money at a nearby bus stop where a member of the public – a man who was unaware of the robbery – stopped to help him.
The good Samaritan was hit in the chest with the end of the firearm, before the man fled on foot again. The member of the public, now realising what had occurred, followed the armed man before losing sight of him when he jumped into a red car in nearby Pioneer Street.
The man is described as Caucasian, about 190cm tall, proportionate build, aged between 45 and 50 years, and wearing a blue and orange work shirt, jeans, sunglasses and a wide brimmed straw hat.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
