Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a Kippa Ring gift shop on August 3 have released an image of a woman who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Around 12pm a woman entered the business and produced a knife, demanding money from a female staff member.

The employee complied with the demands and the woman stole a sum of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The woman is described as Caucasian, approximately 165cm tall, of thin build with sun weathered skin, curly grey/brown hair tied in a bun and discoloured front teeth.

Police are investigating after a shot was fired during an armed robbery in Paddington this morning.

About 5.45am today (Friday 7 August 2015), two offenders entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Paddington, and threatened the male attendant.

They removed a small amount of cash from the register before running from the scene.

The attendant chased them onto William Street, when the offenders produced a firearm and discharged a shot.

The attendant stopped chasing them, and they were last seen getting into a vehicle on Victoria Street before driving from the scene. The attendant was uninjured.

Detectives from Surry Hills Local Area Command are still speaking to the man and no description of the offenders or vehicle is available at this stage.

A 36 year old man from Invermay will appear in Launceston Magistrates court this morning charged with Armed Robbery.

An incident unfolded yesterday, Monday, 27 July 2015, when the offender entered the Mulgrave Street Newsagency, South Launceston at approximately 3.15pm and demanded cash from the til.

The offender had covered his face and carried a large knife. He fled the scene in an older style Subaru wagon.

Detectives were able to trace to the offender to an address in Invermay, where he was arrested and detained for investigation.

Police are investigating following an armed robbery at a bakery near Newcastle yesterday.

About 4.40pm (Friday 24 July 2015), a 60-year-old woman was working in a bakery on Ridge Street, Merewether (about 4km south west of Newcastle) when a man armed with a knife entered the store.

Police have been told the armed man threatened the woman, before running from the scene in a westerly direction, taking cash.

A 30-year-old male witness attempted to stop the man; however lost sight of him a short time later.

The woman was uninjured during the incident.

Officers attached to Newcastle Local Area Command were notified and commenced investigating the incident.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s, about 188cm tall, of slim build, and was wearing a white striped hooded jumper.

Police investigating the armed robbery of a business at Parkinson on July 14, along with a number of other offences believed linked in the area, have charged two boys.

It will be alleged around 5.15am a male entered an Algester Road bakery armed with a knife and demanded money from a female attendant at the counter.

It will further be alleged, a second male armed with a piece of wood then entered the store and smashed a glass front on a fridge.

They allegedly moved to the rear of the business and smashed a pot off a bench while demanding money from three other staff members before taking a bag of money from a bench.

At this time one of the workers armed himself with a stick and charged the offender causing him to run back to the front of the shop.

The two boys then allegedly attempted to take a cash register but dropped it before running outside to a waiting car.

Police will allege the boys were also responsible for the break and enter of a grocery store on Beenleigh Road at Runcorn, a bottle shop on Oxley Road, Graceville and the robbery of a woman who was sitting in a car at a Forest Lake Boulevard carpark.

All incidents occurred within 48hours of each other.

The boys, both aged 16 will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Around 5.15am a man entered an Algester Road bakery armed with a knife and demanded money from a female attendant at the counter.

A second man armed with a piece of wood then entered the store and smashed a glass front on a fridge before moving to the rear of the business and smashing a pot off a bench whilst also demanding money from three other staff members.

The man then took a bag of money from a bench.

At this time one of the workers armed himself with a stick and charged the offender causing him to run back to the front of the shop.

The two men attempted to take a cash register but dropped it before running outside to a waiting car.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall and had his face obscured by cloth

The second man is described as having a dark complexion, 190cm tall and was wearing black clothing and gloves.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Detectives are also investigating a number of other incidents in the vicinity early today.

Around 4.30am a grocery store on Beenleigh Road at Runcorn was broken into after a window was smashed. Entry was gained and a cash register was stolen.

A break and enter of a bottle shop at Oxley Road, Graceville also occured around 4.30am, where a glass door was smashed allowing access to the business. The premises was entered and a quantity of alcohol was stolen before the offenders drove away in two cars.

Images have been released of four people who may be able to assist with their inquiries into this incident.

Around 9am this morning a woman was sitting in a car at a Forest Lake Boulevard carpark at Forest Lake when a man opened her passenger door took her bag from the passenger seat.

It is believed that two stolen vehicles are involved in these incidents which were also involved in petrol drive-offs overnight at Carseldine and Oxley.

The first is a red Holden Calais bearing Queensland registration 545MAN, which was stolen following a burglary at Victoria Avenue Woody Point on July 12.

The second is a grey jeep bearing Queensland registration 901TOR which was stolen from Nandina Court at Upper Coomera overnight on July 12 to 13.

Police are seeking information in relation to an Attempted Aggravated Armed Robbery committed at the Goodwood Newsagency, 6 Stradbroke Road, Goodwood.

Around 3pm on Thursday, 16 July 2015, two male offenders have entered the business brandishing a wooden stake.

The males have attempted to remove the cash register however were unsuccessful and have fled the area.

No persons suffered any physical injury.

The males are described as aged between 20–30 years of age, approximately 170 -175cm tall, slim build and of dark/tanned complection. The males were described as wearing hooded tops, pale grey and a dark blue in colour.

Police are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery at a brothel in Granville overnight.

About 10.35pm (Tuesday 14 July 2015), police were called after two men, one armed with a knife, entered the premises and demanded money from the manager who refused.

Police arrived and saw a man acting suspiciously outside the brothel, before getting into a Toyota Hilux.

Police attempted to pull over the vehicle however the driver refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. Less than a minute into the pursuit, the Toyota Hilux and a Toyota Camry collided on the M4 at the James Ruse Drive entrance city bound.

No one was injured and the driver of the Hilux ran from the scene.

The Camry needed to be towed from the scene and the Hilux was seized for forensic examination.

Police have made contact with the owner of the Toyota Hilux who purports it was stolen.

Police have released CCTV in relation to the Para Hills post office robbery on Wednesday 3 June and are investigating links between theEast Terrace siege on Saturday 13 June as well as other robberies.

At 9.15am on 3 June a man armed with a firearm entered the post office and threatened staff. A second suspect remained outside.

Both men left the scene with cash and no one was physically injured during the incident.

CCTV captured the men inside and outside of the post office, along with a gold or champagne coloured VP Commodore with black wheels. The timestamp on the CCTV outside is not correct.

  • On the Run Alberton, 2 June
  • IGA on Peachey Road at Davoren Park, 7 June

A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at Labrador on June 18.

It will be alleged a man entered the Frank Street business, threatened the attendant and stole a till drawer whilst armed with a knife.

A 31-year-old Boronia Heights man has been charged with armed robbery. He is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow (July 6).
