28 March 2018 – Armed Robbery – Store – Casino

Two men will face court following an investigation into an aggravated robbery in Casino at the weekend.
Police have been told about 7am on Sunday 25 March 2018, three men, armed with a knife and metal pole, approached a 61-year-old man who was opening a store on Centre Street.
The men threatened the attendant before he was assaulted and slashed with the knife whilst attempting to defend himself.
One of the men stole an amount of cash. The men left the scene on foot shortly before police arrival.
The employee was taken to Lismore Hospital for treatment to a laceration on his face.
Officers from Richmond Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, two men, aged 20 and 45, were arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.
The 20-year-old was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and cause wounding.
The 45-year-old was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and cause wounding, robbery armed with offensive weapon and an outstanding warrant.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court today (Wednesday 28 March 2018).
Inquiries are continuing.
19 March 2018 – Armed Robbery – Retail Store – Rockhampton
Published March 24, 2018 | Detectives are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred at Park Avenue (Rockhampton) yesterday afternoon.
At about 2.10pm, a man entered a retail business on Yaamba Road and removed a pair of headphones from the shelf prior to attempting to exit the store without paying for the item.
When a male staff member confronted the man about the property, the man produced a knife and threatened the staff member.
The man fled the scene a short time later with the headphones.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who know the identity of the man (pictured) or his whereabouts to contact police, as police believe the man may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
13 March 2018 – Armed Robbery – Business Premises – Nobel Park
Published March 15, 2018 | Police are investigating an armed robbery in Noble Park this morning.
It is believed a man, armed with a box cutter, approached the counter of a business address on Leonard Avenue about 8.50am.
He jumped the counter and grabbed the female store attendant, demanding cash from the till.
An amount of cash was grabbed from the till and the offender fled on foot towards Leonard Avenue.
The victim was uninjured.
The man is believed to be aged in his early 40s with short straight black hair and dark-coloured eyes.
He was wearing a black leather jacket, black pants and sneakers.
Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
6 March 2018 – Update – CCTV Released – Armed Robbery – Store – Point Lonsdale
Published March 9, 2018 | Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV as part of their investigation into an attempted armed robbery at a Point Lonsdale on Saturday (3 March).
Investigators have been told a man entered the premises around 8.30am armed with an edged weapon.
The man threatened the attendant and demanded cash but was disturbed by a delivery driver who entered the shop from the rear of the store.
The offender ran from the store into school grounds nearby.
Investigators have released CCTV, captured from the nearby school, of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is believed to be aged in his late teens, approximately 185cm tall with a thin build, and was wearing a white face mask or balaclava, black hooded jumper and dark coloured pants.
01 March 2018 – Armed Robbery – Business Premises – Padstow
Published March 2, 2018 | Three people have been charged following an armed robbery at a business in Padstow yesterday.
About 6.20pm (Wednesday 28 February 2018), two males entered a shop on Gibson Avenue and allegedly produced a knife, threatening the operator.
The two fled a short time later with cash and were last seen entering a red vehicle which travelled west on Louie Street.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and establishing a crime scene.
A short time later officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command observed a red Nissan Navara on Milperra Road at Milperra.
The vehicle was stopped and a teenage male and woman were arrested.
Police will allege that they also located a knife and cash in the vehicle which has been seized for forensic examination.
The 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old woman were taken to Liverpool Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 1 March 2018).
She was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Monday 12 March 2018.
Another boy, 16, was arrested at a property in Milperra Road, Revesby, and taken to Bankstown Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.
13 February 2018 – Update – Arrest – Armed Robbery – Store – Bayswater
Published February 15, 2018 | Knox Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men in relation to an armed robbery in Bayswater last year.
It is alleged two men attended the Scoresby Road store just after midnight on 5 December and sprayed an employee with what is believed to be petrol, before making demands for cash.
The men stole an amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
The 45-year-old female employee wasn’t physically injured as a result of the incident.
A 26-year-old and 33-year-old man, both from Wonthaggi, have been charged with armed robbery and will appear in court at a later date.
12 February 2018 – Armed Robbery – Business Premises – Rooty Hill
Published February 15, 2018 | Police are investigating following an armed robbery at Rooty Hill last night.
About 8.10pm yesterday (Sunday 11 February 2018), three males armed with knives, entered a store on Rooty Hill Road South.
The men threatened staff before fleeing the premises.
Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command established a crime scene and would like to speak with three men they believe can assist with inquiries.
One man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance and about 185cm to 190cm tall.
Another man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance and about 185cm to 190cm tall and was wearing dark clothing.
A third man is described as having a tanned complexion, about 170cm to 175cm tall and clean shaven.
11 February 2018 – Armed Robbery – Business Premises – North Strathfield
Published February 15, 2018 | Police are investigating following an armed robbery in North Strathfield last night.
About 7pm yesterday (Saturday 10 February 2018), a man armed with a machete entered a store on George Street, North Strathfield.
The man demanded money from staff before fleeing the scene in a red Toyota Prius.
Officers from Burwood Local Area Command established a crime scene and would like to speak with a man they believe can assist with inquiries.
The man was wearing a white-hooded jumper, blue sneakers and was carrying a grey bag.
6 February 2018 – Update – 6 Arrests – Armed Robbery – Firearms Shop – Thornbury
Published February 9, 2018 | Six men have been arrested in the past 24 hours as part of the Armed Crime Squad investigation into an armed robbery in Thornbury last week.
Two men were arrested by police from the Special Operations Group on Collins Street about 2.10pm on Monday, 5 February.
An 18-year-old Chadstone man has been charged with armed robbery, theft of firearms, possess traffickable quantity of firearms and prohibited person possess firearms.
A 20-year-old Docklands man has been charged with theft of firearms, possess traffickable quantity of firearms, prohibited person possess firearms and handle stolen goods.
Both were held in custody overnight and will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
A number of warrants were subsequently executed by detectives from Crime Command and police from North West Metro Region at properties in Docklands, Craigieburn, Dallas, Wallan, Keilor Downs, Chadstone and Broadmeadows.
A 20-year-old Wallan man, 20-year-old Craigieburn man, 19-year-old Dallas man and 25-year-old Craigieburn man were arrested and will be interviewed by police.
The arrests follow an armed robbery at a firearms business on High Street, Thornbury on 29 January.
It is believed four armed males entered the store just after 11am and stole a number of firearms.
At the time of the incident, it was believed around 60 firearms may have been stolen during the armed robbery.
A subsequent audit by the Victoria Police Licensing and Regulation Division determined that 37 firearms had been taken.
Firearms were seized during the warrants and it’s believed all are now accounted for.
7 February 2018 – Armed Robbery – Retail Store – Jerrabomberra
Published February 9, 2018 | Police are investigating following an armed robbery near Queanbeyan last night.
About 10pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 February 2018), two men, armed with tools, entered a retail store on Limestone Drive at Jerrabomberra.
The pair demanded money from staff before fleeing with a small amount of cash.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Monaro Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene and would like to speak with two men they believe can assist with their inquiries.
One man is described as being of Indian/Sub-Continental appearance with a dark complexion. He was wearing a light coloured hooded jumper and face covering with dark pants.
The second man is described as having a light complexion and was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and dark pants.
Both men are believed to be between 20 and 30 years of age.
