Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad executed two warrants this morning as part of their ongoing investigation into an alleged armed robbery at a Thornbury gun shop in January.

The warrants were executed in Thomastown and Epping.

A 17-year-old Thomastown male was arrested and has since been released pending further enquiries.

One of the male occupants of the Epping address was not present at the time of the warrant and police are expecting to speak to him at a later date.

A firearm was also seized from a property, however it is not believed to have been used in the alleged armed robbery on 29 January.

Detectives believe there are a number of people involved in the incident who are yet to be identified and are appealing for public information to assist with the investigation.

One man is described as wearing a blue jumper, navy and white striped Adidas tracksuit pants, white runners and a white covering on his head.

He was also carrying a handgun during the incident.

Earlier today police appealed for further information in regards to the incident at the High Street store.

Detectives believe there are a number of people involved in the incident who are yet to be identified and are appealing for public information to assist with the investigation.

A second man is described as wearing a dark jumper, dark pants and white runners and was wearing a dark blue covering on his head and carrying a dark blue bag at the time of the incident.

Police believe a sledgehammer and a crowbar were also used by the offenders during this armed robbery.

Searches were conducted in the area by police from the Search and Rescue Squad, however they were unable to locate the items.

Detectives are also searching for a white Volkswagen that was seen in the Thornbury area shortly after the incident.

It’s believed a number of people connected to the alleged armed robbery left the area in this vehicle after the incident.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of the Volkswagen they are trying to locate, which shows it following closely behind a white Toyota Kluger that was found dumped on Clapham Street shortly after the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information about those involved or the vehicle to come forward, and are also keen to speak to anyone with any other information about the alleged armed robbery.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are continuing to investigate an alleged armed robbery at a firearms store in Thornbury earlier this year.

The incident occurred at the High Street premises shortly after 11am on 29 January.

A number of firearms were stolen during the incident and all of these have since been recovered.

On 5 February six men were arrested by police as part of the investigation into the incident and three were subsequently charged.

The remaining three were released pending further enquiries.

An 18-year-old Chadstone man was charged with armed robbery, theft of firearms, possess traffickable quantity of firearms and prohibited person possess firearms.

A 20-year-old Docklands man was charged with theft of firearms, possess traffickable quantity of firearms, prohibited person possess firearms and handle stolen goods.

A 20-year-old Wallan man was charged with armed robbery, theft of firearms, possess traffickable quantity of firearms and non-prohibited person possess firearm.

A 20-year-old Craigieburn man, 19-year-old Dallas man and 25-year-old Craigieburn man arrested were released pending further enquiries.

Northern Territory Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a Moil business this morning.

A man entered the business and threatened a staff member with a knife before stealing an amount of money and fleeing at around 9:45am.

He was barefoot and wearing a blue shirt wrapped around his head, as well as a long sleeve orange and blue high visibility shirt, camouflage pants and gloves.

The offender was last seen on Hare Street in Moil.

Police have released CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries into two separate robberies in the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command.

About 8.55am Saturday 17 February 2018, two men entered a newsagency on Clovelly Street, Clovelly. They threatened the female employee and pushed her up against the wall and took cash from the till.

Both men fled the store with cash and cigarettes.

A second robbery occurred at a pharmacy/newsagency on Anzac Parade, Kensington about 8.30am on Thursday 22 February 2018.

Two men entered the business and demanded money from the 27-year-old female employee.

An investigation was commenced, and initial inquiries revealed it was likely someone had been seriously assaulted in the room earlier that morning.

Investigators believe the robberies may be linked.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of two men, who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted is described as being of Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 20 and 30, about 175cm tall with a solid build. He has dark eyes and dark hair. He was wearing a hooded jumper.

The second man depicted is also described as being of Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 20 and 30, 180cm tall with a medium to solid build. He was also wearing a hooded jacket.

Anyone who recognises any of the people depicted in the CCTV vision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers as soon as possible.

Police are investigating following an armed robbery at a pop-up sale in a community hall in Taigum.

Preliminary information suggests around 12:50pm a man entered the hall on Handford Road, carrying what appeared to be a firearm.

He pointed the weapon at a 69-year-old man demanding he hand over a sum of cash and he complied before fleeing the scene.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 175cm tall with a medium build, blue jeans, black boots and a black face cover over his mouth and nose.

Brimbank Embona detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary at a second hand dealer in Sunshine last week.

A man entered the Hampshire Road store about 2.20pm on 6 April with a crowbar concealed in his jacket.

He used the crowbar to smash a display cabinet containing jewellery.

The man stole a quantity of jewellery, valued at thousands of dollars, before leaving the store on foot.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 165cm tall, aged in his 40’s and wearing a black hooded jacket with white fleece lining and black track pants with two white stripes.

Police have released an image and CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

A man will face court today charged over a series of alleged armed robberies and a shooting in Sydney’s west and inner west over a seven-week period.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Tintaldra to investigate five armed robberies between late November 2017 and early January 2018 at Canley Vale, Fairfield East, North Strathfield, Strathfield and Wentworthville.

Police will allege in court that in each incident, a man armed with a firearm entered the store, threatened staff and demanded cash.

Police will further allege that during the Wentworthville robbery, a 21-year-old male staff member was involved in an altercation with the armed man. The employee was shot twice before the armed man ran from the store.

The employee underwent surgery but has suffered permanent injuries.

Crime scenes were established at all the locations and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 28-year-old man at a construction site at Pagewood just after 9am yesterday (Wednesday 11 April 2018).

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station.

Shortly after the arrest, Strike Force Tintaldra investigators, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, executed three search warrants at homes at Old Guildford.

Police seized a firearm, ammunition, clothing, and other items relevant to the investigation.

The Old Guildford man was charged with four counts of robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, attempted robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon wound/grievous bodily harm, discharge firearm intend cause grievous bodily harm, fire firearm manner likely injure persons, use unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and an outstanding warrant for traffic offences.

He has been refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court later today (Thursday 12 April 2018).

Inquiries under Strike Force Tintaldra are continuing.

A second teenager has been charged following the alleged attempted armed robbery of a man in Parramatta.

About 9pm on Sunday 1 April 2018, a 55-year-old man was walking along Robertson Street when he was approached by two males, allegedly armed with scissors.

Police will allege the youths pushed the man to the ground and attempted to take his bag but ran when a nearby resident came to his assistance.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged and remains before the courts.

Just before 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 5 April 2018), police executed a search warrant at a property in South Parade, Auburn.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob in company and two counts of common assault.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before a children’s court today (Friday 6 April 2018).

A teenage boy man has been charged over the alleged attempted armed robbery of a man in Parramatta.

About 9pm on Sunday 1 April 2018, a 55-year-old man was walking along Robertson Street, Parramatta when he was approached by two people, armed with scissors.

Police have been told they pushed the man to the ground and attempted to take his bag, but ran when a nearby resident came to his assistance.

Police from Parramatta Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 4.45pm (Wednesday 4 April 2018), police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Church Street at Parramatta.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob in company and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of their duty.

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at a Children’s Court on Tuesday 1 May 2018.

Investigations are continuing.

Police have arrested two youths following a fishy incident in Yarraville this evening.

Two females entered a fish and chip store on Somerville Road about 7pm before allegedly producing a knife and demanding cash.

A passer-by and good sea-maritan, who observed the incident, managed to follow the youths out of the store before alerting Triple Zero to their location.

A police officer who happened to be patrolling nearby caught the pair on Tuppen Street shortly after.

One of the youths was OC sprayed during the arrest.

The pair was reeled back to the police station, where they are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
