Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance following the investigation into an armed robbery at a Newcomb hotel on 25 February.
Detectives have been told a man entered the hotel situated on the Bellarine Highway about 2.30am.
It is believed the man, armed with a sawn-off shot gun, approached the cashier booth and made a demand for cash.
The offender stole a large quantity of cash before leaving the store via the front door.
It is believed the offender fled the scene in a small light coloured sedan or hatchback.
The offender was wearing a white balaclava, black gloves, grey hoody, dark jeans and black and white runners which had pink laces on the left shoe.
Detectives have released images and CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Investigators believe the offender was involved in a collision with an unknown person in the Newcomb or Whittington areas following the armed robbery.
Details were exchanged and detectives are keen to speak to that driver.
Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a service station in Lynbrook earlier this month.
Two men attended the Dandenong-Hastings Road business just after 2am on 2 May and threw a large rock through the glass front door.
The pair then entered the service station, one of them armed with what appeared to be a meat cleaver.
They forced the attendant to open the till and took a sum of money before locating a second till and taking cash from that as well.
The pair then grabbed cigarettes before leaving the store.
The attendant was not injured physically during the incident.
Police from the Southern Metro Region Crime Response Team are investigating the armed robbery and have released CCTV in an effort to identify the men.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a Murrumbeena milk bar last month.
Two men entered a store on Kangaroo Road armed with an axe and hammer on Friday 22 April about 9pm.
Once inside, they stole the cash register before the victim has chased them out of the store.
Police have been told the men left the area on BMX bicycles and were last seen heading west on Murrumbeena Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.


Box Hill Embona Task Force detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man robbed a convenience store in Canterbury on 26 April.
Officers have been told a man armed with a hammer and a knife entered the store on Canterbury Road about 3am.
The offender threatened the attendant and made demands for cash.
A small amount of cash was handed over and the bandit fled the scene.
It is believed he drove away in a stolen Nissan Pulsar and fled travelling north on Station Street towards Box Hill.
The car was subsequently found burnt out in Doveton on 28 April
Investigators have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The offender threatened the attendant and made demands for cash.
A small amount of cash was handed over and the bandit fled the scene.
It is believed he fled via the rear of the hotel and drove away in a dark coloured Mitsubishi Magna sedan.
The offender is described as about 185cm tall, with a thin build and light coloured hair.
He was wearing a black baseball cap with a white ‘Stussy’ logo, black hooded jacket, runners and a black bandana covering his face.

Police have arrested a 41-year-old Queensland man in relation to alleged armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery which occurred in Reservoir and Ivanhoe last month.
The alleged incidents occurred at businesses on the Broadway in Reservoir on 17 April, Gilbert Road in Reservoir on 24 April and Waterdale Road in Ivanhoe on 22 April.
Investigators allege the man was also involved in an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant in McLeans Road, Bundoora earlier today.
The man was spotted by a member of the public riding a motorcycle on Bell Street around 12.30pm today and followed to a car park where police were called.
It is alleged that on police arrival the man attempted to ride off but was stopped by the member of the public and police.
He was arrested and has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, firearms offences and weapons offences.
The 41-year-old has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Once inside the store he threatened the attendant with a knife and made demands for money.
The man stole a quantity of cash before leaving the store on a motorcycle that was parked nearby and drove off in an easterly direction.
Police believe the same man attended another store on Waterdale Road, Ivanhoe on Friday 22 April about 11.55am where he threatened an attendant with a knife.
He made demands for cash however the victim refused and started screaming.
The man has left the store without taking anything and has driven away on what is believed to be the same motorcycle.
Police believe the same man has attended another store on Gilbert Road, Reservoir on Sunday 24 April about 9.45pm.
It is believed the man approached two female attendants with a knife and made demands for cash.
They have handed over a quantity of cash and the man left the store in an unknown direction.
No one was injured in any of the incidents.

Staff members at an adult entertainment store in Dandenong have been left incensed after a man robbed their store last month.
Police have been told an unknown man entered the adult store and approached the counter to ask staff about incense sticks just after 10pm on Thursday 17 March.
It is believed the man pulled out a knife and threatened the staff member before making demands for incense sticks and cash.
A small amount of cash and incense sticks were handed over and the offender, who was wearing a yellow hooded jumper, fled the scene.
Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Special Operations Group members have arrested a man following three armed robberies in the Shepparton area over the last 24 hours.
Local police and Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives, together with specialist police, were searching for the man after alleged armed robberies in Undera, Merrigum and Byrneside.
On each occasion, at a general store, café and service station, attendants were allegedly threatened by the man who was armed with a firearm.
It’s believed he made off with an amount of cash on each occasion.
No one was injured in any of the incidents.
The 25-year-old Kyabram man was arrested today shortly after 11am at the intersection of Dhurringile and Hampton roads, Tatura without incident.
Police have also recovered a firearm.
He will be taken back to a local police station and interviewed in relation to the incidents.
Police would like to thank the local community for information which assisted police in relation to their search for the man.

The offender threatened the attendant and made demands for cash.
A large amount of cash was handed over and the bandit fled the scene.
He was wearing a black Adidas hooded jumper with stripes on the sleeves and a blue and white bandana covering his face.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
