Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a woman in relation to two incidents at the same pharmacy in North Fremantle which occurred on Sunday 10 March 2013 and Monday 11 March 2013.

About 8:30am on Sunday a woman entered the pharmacy on Stirling Highway, North Fremantle and presented a prescription for a certain medication. While processing the order it was established the woman was no longer entitled to the medication, and when informed of that she took the medication and ran from the pharmacy. About 2:55pm yesterday afternoon the same woman entered the same pharmacy and walked directly behind the counter and threatened the Pharmacist with a knife, demanding the same medication. The Pharmacist complied with the demands and handed over an amount of medication.

Officers from Fremantle Detectives located the person of interest, and arrested her and handed her over to the Regional Investigations Unit for further investigation. It will be alleged the accused was responsible for both of the incidents above. A 30 year old woman from Alfred Cove has been charged with one count each of Stealing and Armed Robbery, and will appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 12 March 2013.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to three armed robbery incidents and an attempted armed robbery incident, all which occurred on Sunday 10 March 2013 and Monday 11 March 2013.

About 8:30pm on Sunday, 10 March 2013, a man entered a bottle shop on Amelia Street Balcatta and approached the counter armed with a knife, and what the staff member thought was a firearm. He demanded cash and the staff member complied with his demands, before the offender left in a red Mitsubishi Pajero.

About 4:40am yesterday a man entered a service station on Main Street, Osborne Park and approached the counter armed with a cattle prod electric shock device. He demanded cashand fled after the staff member handed over an amount of money.

About two hours later (6:45am), a man entered a service station on Wanneroo Road, Balcatta and approached the counter armed with a cattle prod and demanded cash. The staff member complied and the offender ran from the store.

The last incident, at 7:25am involved a man entering a service station on Wanneroo Road, Tuart Hill and approached the counter armed with a cattle prod. He demanded cash, however the staff member refused and the offender left the area in a red Mitsubishi Pajero.

A short time later a dog squad unit was on patrol in Balcatta when a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in at least two of the offences was seen parked outside a setof units that were under construction. A search of the units resulted in the person of interest being located hiding in the roof space of one of the units. The man arrested and handed overto the Regional Investigations Unit.

It will be alleged the accused man was responsible for all four offences. A 32 year old man from Osborne Park has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Armed robbery and one count of Attempted Aggravated Armed Robbery, and he will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 12 March 2013.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information regarding two armed robberies in North Perth and the City, which they believe are linked. The first incident occurred just before 8pm, on Wednesday 20 February 2013, when a man armed with a syringe entered the McDonalds store located on Charles Street, North Perth and threatened staff. The offender was given a sum of cash before fleeing on foot. The second incident occurred around 1:45pm, on Friday 22 February, when a man armed with a knife entered Bankwest located on Murray Street Perth and threatened a teller,demanding money. He was given a sum of cash before fleeing on foot. The offender is described as being in his late 20’s to early 30’s, fair skinned, approximately 180cms tall with a medium build and short scruffy orange facial hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and a grey baseball cap.

Police would like to speak to the man in the photo who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

Regional Investigations Unit officers are seeking to identify witnesses to two armed robberies on liquor stores in the northern suburbs. The first occurred at a liquor store on East Road in Hocking on 16 February. At around 8.15pm, two employees and two customers were in the store, when they were confronted by a man holding a knife.

He demanded money from one employee, and was given an amount of cash from the till and safe before leaving the store.

He is described as being around 173 – 175 cm tall, of a solid build, with a fair complexion and Australian accent. He was wearing a balaclava with a distinctive white print on the back, cream gloves, a dark colour top, and denim jeans. The second robbery occurred at a liquor store on Marina Boulevard in Ocean Reef on 26 February.

At around 8pm, the offender entered the store armed with a knife and demanded cash from the manager of the store. He was given amount of cash from the till before running from the  store. The offender is described as wearing a grey hooded jumper, denim jeans, cream gloves, and a balaclava with a distinctive white print on the back.

Police believe these two incidents may be linked, and the offender is believed to have left both stores in a small vehicle (possibly a hatchback).

Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information regarding an attempted armed robbery in Beckenham, on Tuesday 5 February 2013.

About 11:30pm, two men riding bicycles entered a service station located at the intersection of William Street and Railway Avenue.

One man waited outside the store area, whilst the second man went inside and threatened staff with a machete.

The staff managed to hide in the office area, and the offender fled without obtaining any money or property. Both men left on bicycles and were last seen heading towards the Beckenham train station. The man who waited outside is described as being about 25 years of age, with a dark complexion and a small goatee. He was wearing dark clothing. The second man is described as being about 35 to 40 years of age, fair skinned, approximately 170cms tall with a medium build. He was wearing a checked shirt, tracksuit pants and a cap.

The Regional Investigations Unit is again calling for public help in their investigation into a recent armed robbery.

At 4.47am on Wednesday 13 February 2013 a man entered the United Service Station on the corner of Gilmour Avenue and Fieldman Drive, Leda.

He was armed with a firearm and approached the attendant, demanding money. After being given money the man ran from the store and left in a dark coloured sedan, driven by a second person.

The offender is described as being in his 20’s or 30’s, 175 to 180cms tall, medium build, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Detectives from the Regional Investigation Unit are seeking help from the public in their investigation into the robbery of the Coles Express service station, Warwick Road, Duncraig on 3 January 2013.

At 12.20 am a male person approached the closed doors of the service station and the attendant activated the doors, allowing him to enter.

He approached the counter brandishing a sharp object in his right hand, whilst yelling obscenities and demanding the attendant give him cash from the register.

He was given a quantity of cash and when he went to leave the store had to prise the doors open with his hands. An accomplice appeared outside the store and helped the offender open the doors and both ran off.

The offender is described as being in his late teens, 170 cm tall, slim build. He was wearing a black jumper with the word “PUMA” printed on the front, black track pants, white sneakers and a black balaclava.

His accomplice was described as being of similar appearance.

Investigators from the Regional Investigation Unit are calling for public assistance in locating the person responsible for two recent armed robberies, in Willetton and Success.

In the first instance a male person entered Domino’s Pizza in Rostrata Avenue, Willetton at 8.45pm on Saturday 5 January 2013, armed with large kitchen knife and carrying a McDonalds paper bag.

He demanded a staff member hand over cash and when given the cash, left the store and rode off on a black sport motorcycle.

A few minutes later it is believed the same person entered Eagle Boys Pizza in Success and again, armed with a large knife, demanded cash. He became agitated, kicked open the counter gate and continued to threaten the staff member with the knife.

When the staff member was unable to open the cash register, the offender left empty handed.

He was seen leaving the carpark, in a northerly direction, on a dark coloured sports motorbike.

He is described as being in his 30s, fair complexion, 170 to 180 cm tall, medium to solid build. He was wearing dark coloured material over his head, a dark hooded jumper, dark

pants, black shoes and black gloves. He is shown in the attached image. Please note that whilst this camera image makes his track suit appear grey, it was dark or even black.

Officers from BridgewaterCIBand Glenorchy Uniform have arrested and charged a 27 year old male in relation to an armed robbery committed at Glenorchy.

The incident occurred at approximately 19:00 hours on Tuesday the 22nd January, 2013 in the Glenorchy Centro car park after a stealing occurred at Big W.  The victim, who is an employee of Big W, was threatened with a Stanley knife.

The male has been detained for Court.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery in Bentley on Sunday 6 November 1994. It will be alleged about 7:50pm a man entered a pharmacy on Albany Highway, Bentley armed with a firearm and demanded cash and drugs from a staff member. The staff member handed over an amount of cash and the offender left the store. Yesterday afternoon a man presented himself at the Cannington Police Complex and requested to speak to detectives about the incident. A 49 year old man from Stirling, who was 30 years old at the time of the incident, has been charged with Armed Robbery and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 24 January 2013.
