Police are currently at the scene of an aggravated robbery at O’Sullivan Beach.
At about 1.40pm, a man armed with a knife entered the Sip ‘n’ Save Liquor Store on Galloway Road and demanded cash.
He fled with an amount of money and was last seen running west on Selway Terrace.
No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, aged 20 to 30 years, short fair hair, and was wearing a baseball cap, reflective sunglasses, gloves, blue pants with white stripes on the sides and a two-tone green hooded jacket.
Anyone who sees a man matching this description is asked to call police immediately on 131444.
Police are investigating the robbery of a liquor store at Forest Lake last night.
Just after 7.30pm two men entered the Joseph Banks Avenue business. One of the men, armed with a knife, approached the male employee and demanded money.
The other man went to shelving and started placing bottles of liquor into a backpack.
After money was obtained from the till both men then left the store.
The employee, 59, was not physically injured.
The first man is described as 172cm tall, of average build and was wearing a black cap, black long sleeve jumper, grey trousers and black shoes. His face was obscured by a bandanna.
The second man is described as 180cm tall, of solid build and was wearing a black cap, a balaclava, black trousers and shoes.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store in Brinsmead earlier this evening.
Initial investigations indicate that around 8.50pm a man entered the store on Loridan Drive and demanded money from the attendant, while armed with a knife.
The attendant complied and the man left on-foot with a sum of cash.
No physical injuries were sustained as a result if this incident,
The man is described as being around 180cm tall, with a solid build and was last seen wearing black jeans, a grey hooded-jumper, work boots, a ski mask and gloves.
There is no further information available at this stage. Investigations are continuing,
Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Bossley Park.
About 5.15pm yesterday (Sunday 18 May 2014), a man entered the shop, which is located at the intersection of Mimosa Road and Quarry Road.
The man asked the 25-year-old female cashier for a packet of cigarettes, and when she turned her back, he produced a knife and stepped behind the counter.
He demanded the cashier open the register.
She complied, and he took out an amount of cash before leaving the shop.
The man was last seen running west on Quarry Road.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers.
No-one was injured in the incident.
Detectives are continuing their investigations, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described only as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance and aged in his 20s. At the time, the man was wearing a dark grey, checked hooded jacket and dark grey shorts.
Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery of a bottle store near Wollongong, last night.
About 8.20pm (Monday 12 May 2014), two attendants a 43-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were at the counter of a bottle store on Popes Road, Woonona, when two people approached the counter with their faces covered.
The people threatened the attendants with a large knife demanding money, they complied and handed over a sum of cash.
The people then fled on foot with the cash.
Police were contacted and Wollongong Local Area Command and specialist forensic officers attended the location commencing an investigation.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
One person was described to officers as Caucasian appearance, aged in the 20’s, wearing black jeans and a dark hooded jumper.
The other was described as wearing a blue jumper and blue jeans.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with any information surrounding the incident to contact the authorities.
Two men and a woman have been arrested following investigations into a string of alleged armed robberies in Sydney and the state’s south over the last four weeks.
About 6pm, Tuesday 22 April 2014, two men entered a take away store on the corner of Padman Drive and Gulson Street, Albury, armed with knives.
When the attendant ran from the store, the two men allegedly took cash and fled the scene in a car driven by a woman.
Officers from Albury Local Area Command were called and commenced investigations.
About 12.30am, Friday 2 May 2014, a woman entered a service station on Henry Street, Penrith and allegedly lured the attendant away from the counter, before leaving the premises.
A short time later, two men entered the service station, allegedly armed with a knife, and demanded cash.
They then ran from the scene with cash and cigarettes. Police were called and a crime scene was established.
At 8.10pm, Monday 5 May 2014, two men armed with a knife entered a bottle shop on Kaitlers Road, Springdale Heights, and allegedly demanded cash.
They ran from the scene a short time later, taking cash. Officers were called and commenced investigations.
Between 11.45am, Monday 5 May 2014 and 2pm Tuesday 6 May 2014, two men entered a home on Klose Street, Lavington, where they allegedly stole personal items, including jewellery.
They fled the scene and police were called.
Following investigations, about 3pm, Tuesday 6 May 2014, two men and a woman were arrested at a store in High Street, Wodonga, by Victorian Police. NSW Police sought and were granted permission to extradite the trio to NSW.
The two men, a 27-year-old from Albury and a 31-year-old from Doonside, were charged with three counts of robbery in company and aggravated break and enter, commit serious indictable offence.
The woman, a 30-year-old from Culcairn, was charged with two counts of robbery in company.
All three were refused bail, to appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 8 May 2014).
Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a liquor store at Concord last night.
About 8pm (Friday 2 May 2014), two men with their faces concealed entered a liquor store on Majors Bay Road and threatened two staff members, demanding money.
The pair was allegedly armed with a hammer and knife.
The staff members complied with the men’s demands and they left on foot via a rear entrance on Majors Lane.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Burwood Local Area Command attended the store and established a crime scene.
A Police Dog was able to track the two men’s movements to Brent Street, Concord, where officers believe they drove away in a vehicle.
Detectives would now like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
Both men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in their early 20s, approximately 175cm tall, with thin to medium builds. They were last seen wearing dark clothes and face coverings.
Detectives investigating a spate of armed robberies in Sydney have released CCTV footage from two of the armed robberies in the hope it will prompt community members with information of relevance to come forward.
Detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad have formed Strike Force Dean to investigate 13 incidents, all of which police believe may be linked to the one core group.
The 13 incidents are:
– The attempted armed robbery of a bowling club in Hurlstone Park shortly before 8pm on Saturday 21 September 2013;
– The attempted armed robbery of a pub in Drummoyne shortly after midday on Sunday 29 September 2013;
– The attempted armed robbery of a gambling venue in Bexley North around 6pm on Monday 21 October 2013, as well as the theft of wallets from two of the venue’s customers;
– The armed robbery of a pub in Canterbury around 11.45pm on Monday 21 October 2013;
– The armed robbery of a pub in Kingsgrove about 2.15am on Wednesday 5 November 2013;
– The armed robbery of a pub in West Ryde shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday 23 November 2013;
– The theft of a blue Honda Accord from a property on Windsor Road, Dulwich Hill, during the night of Friday 29 November 2013;
– The armed robbery of a pub in Kingsgrove around 1am on Saturday 30 November 2013;
– The armed robbery of a pub in Earlwood around 2.30am on Wednesday 4 December 2013;
– The armed robbery of a pub in West Ryde about 11pm on Wednesday 11 December 2013;
– The armed robbery of pub in Lewisham around 11.50pm on Monday 16 December 2013;
– The armed robbery of a bowling club in Belfield about 10.20pm on Friday 7 February 2014; and,
– The armed robbery of a pub in Belmore around 1.45am on Tuesday 11 February 2014.
The CCTV released today was captured during the West Ryde and Lewisham armed robberies.
About 11pm on Wednesday 11 December 2013, three males, all of whom had their faces concealed with cloth, entered a pub on West Parade, West Ryde.
The males – two of whom were armed with shortened firearms, and one who was armed with a large knife – threatened staff and patrons, before forcing one staff member to open an on-site safe.
The trio subsequently stole an amount of cash from the safe before fleeing the scene.
CCTV shows that the males arrived at the location in a light-coloured sedan; detectives believe they also left the location in this car.
Less than a week later, about 11.50pm on Monday 16 December 2013, three males, all of whom had their faces covered, entered a pub on Hunter Street in Lewisham.
The males – two of whom were armed with shortened firearms, and one who was armed with a large knife – threatened staff members with their weapons, before accessing an office where they were able to steal an amount of cash
The trio subsequently left the location in a white Holden Commodore, the same vehicle they arrived at the location in.
The first male involved in the Lewisham robbery is described as being approximately 170cm tall with a thin build. During the incident, he was carrying a shortened firearm, and was wearing a grey hooded-jumper with the number “99” on the back, grey tracksuit pants, gloves and had black cloth covering his face.
The second male involved in the Lewisham robbery is described as being approximately 180cm tall with a thin build. During the robbery, he was carrying a shortened firearm, and was wearing a light-coloured hooded-jumper, dark tracksuit pants, dark cloth over his face, gloves and white shoes.
A third male, who does not appear in the CCTV, was armed with a knife and is described as being approximately 170 – 180cm tall with a thin build. During the robbery, he was armed with a large knife, and was wearing a dark hooded- jumper, dark tracksuit pants, dark cloth over his face, gloves and white shoes.
The three males involved in the armed robbery at West Ryde were all wearing dark hooded-jumpers and dark pants, and had their faces covered with cloth or balaclavas.
One of the men, armed with a shortened firearm, was wearing a distinctive white balaclava.
The Commander of the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, Detective Superintendent Luke Moore, said police are hoping the release of vision will prompt community members to come forward with information.
“If you have information concerning any of these incidents – whether it relates to something you saw or something you have heard, or even someone you suspect may be involved – please do get in touch,” Detective Superintendent Moore said.
“You can provide information anonymously and securely.
“We don’t need to know who you are; all we need is the information you have to hand.”
Members from Fawkner Embona have arrested a Carlton man regarding a series of armed robberies.
The ten armed robberies took place at bottle shops and motels across the northern suburbs between December 2013 and this month.
Thomas Bufete has been charged with ten counts of armed robbery and a range of offences relating to a pursuit which occurred between Taylors Lakes and Brunswick yesterday.
The 22-year-old has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a liquor store at Panania.
About 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 April 2014), a man entered the store on Tower Street, armed with a knife.
The man threatened the 49-year-old male owner and 20-year-old male employee and demanded cash.
He took money from the till before fleeing.
Police from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.
The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his 20s, 160cm tall with a solid build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and black tracksuit pants.
Police are urging anyone with information about either the man’s identity, or the incident itself, to come forward.
