Police have charged a man following an armed robbery that occurred overnight in Garbutt.
Around 7.50pm, a man has entered a bottle shop on Hugh Street and police will allege he has taken cartons of alcohol and fled without paying.
Police will further allege he was chased by the attendant outside, and the man has then produced a knife and threatened the attendant before fleeing the scene.
A man was taken into custody a short time later.
A 36-year-old Vincent man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on April 14.
Police are investigating a serious criminal trespass and theft at a bottle shop at a Tea Tree Gully hotel.
About 5am today, a black Mazda MX6 sedan stolen from Northgate overnight was used to force open the roller door of the drive-thru bottle shop.
Two men then stole bottles of alcohol from inside and drove off.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Regents Park earlier today.
Around 1.15pm, a man has walked into a bottle shop on Waller Roadwith a knife up his sleeve and demanded cash from the attendant.
The man has grabbed a sum of cash from the register and has then left the business on foot.
He was last seen crossing Waller Road.
The attendant wasn’t injured as a result of the robbery.
The man is described as being around 165cms tall, or a slim build and had dark brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jumper, dark pants and white shoes.
Investigations are continuing.
Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Revesby yesterday afternoon.
About 5.10pm (Thursday 10 April 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a bottle shop on Selems Parade and assaulted a 19-year-old woman working at the store, before demanding money.
He fled the scene with cash, and was last seen heading towards Swan Street.
The woman was uninjured during the incident.
Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.
As investigations continue, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
He is described as being about 180cm tall, of solid build, and was wearing a black hooded jumper, black long pants, and black shoes.
A 19-year-old Ramussen man has been charged with entering a premises and commiting an indictable offence following investigations into an incident at a bottle shop at Kirwan last night.
Police will allege about 7.20pm, three men attempted to steal alcohol from the High Range Drive store when an employee told them to leave.
One of the men allegedly returned to the premises before threatening the attendant with a knife and stealing a quantity of alcohol. No one was physically injured during the incident.
Kirwan Police arrested a 19-year-old man at Rasmussen last night, who it will be alleged was involved in the initial incident.
He was charged with entering a premises with intent to commit and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing in relation to both incidents.
North Brisbane police are investigating a bottle shop that was robbed last night in Zillmere.
Initial investigations indicate that around 7.30pm a man entered the Handford Road business armed with two knives and approached the man at the counter, demanding money.
After taking a sum cash and property from the store, the man then left on-foot towards Pretoria Street.
Police attempted to locate the man, however were unsuccessful.
He is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, around 178cm tall and was wearing (at the time) long black pants, a purple hooded-jumper, a black cap and carrying a red backpack.
No one was physically injured and investigations are continuing.

About 6.30pm on Thursday 26 December 2013, a man entered the store on South Parade, armed with a knife.
He threatened the 23-year-old male employee and demanded cash.
The man took cash before fleeing.
About 7.15pm on Friday 7 February 2014, a man armed with a knife entered the store on South Parade and demanded money from the female shop attendant.
He fled the scene a short time later with an amount of cash.
Detectives from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command are continuing their inquiries and have now released CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist in their investigation.
The first man depicted in the image is described as being of Caucasian appearance. He is wearing a white hooded jumper and black pants.

The pair fled the scene with a cash register, money, cigarettes and a wallet.

The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, of heavy build, about 170cm tall and 18 – 21-years-old.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt over his head, a maroon jumper with a white symbol on the chest and black and white shoes.
The injured men suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment.

The two men then ran from the store and drove off in a light coloured, late model hatchback car east along Edinburgh Castle Road.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a bottle shop at Caboolture this morning.
It will be alleged around 10.20am a woman entered the King Street premises before obtaining bottles of alcohol and attempting to leave the store.
When a female attendant confronted the woman, she allegedly threatened to strike her with one of the glass bottles before fleeing the scene with a quantity of alcohol.
A 20-year-old Caboolture woman has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.
She will appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.
