Crimes related to Pharmacies

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at Strathfield today.

About 3.15pm (Wednesday 14 June 2017), a man walked into a pharmacy on Liverpool Road, South Strathfield and demanded drugs from a female shop assistant.

The man produced what appeared to be a large Samurai sword from his pants and threatened the shop assistant who complied with the demand.

The man left the store, but not before stealing a wallet containing cash and was last seen running west on the Hume Highway towards Homebush Road.

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being 183cm tall, of Mediterranean / Middle Eastern appearance, about 40 to 50 old with a skinny build.

The man was unshaven, and was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, brown pants and a cap.

Brimbank Embona Taskforce detectives are investigating after a gunman robbed a pharmacy in Deer Park on Sunday 21 May.

A man entered the Station Road business and produced a handgun, demanding cash from a staff member about 7pm.

An amount of cash was handed over and the offender fled on foot.

He was last seen running along Station Road towards Kororoit Creek.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early to mid-30s, about 183cm tall, with a medium build, short beard.

He was wearing a thick dark-coloured jacket and holding a black garbage bag.

Investigators have released some images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are searching for a man who used a knife to rob a chemist at Loganlea earlier today.

Around 11.10am police were called after a man armed with a hunting style knife entered the Haig Street business and approached a female employee making demands for money.

The employee handed over to the man an undisclosed amount of money from the till.

The man was aged between 20 to 25 years, Caucasian with a proportionate build and was wearing a grey hoodie, dark blue pants with a white strip on leg at the time of the robbery.

He was last seen running up Haig Street towards Webb Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Police investigating the armed robbery of a pharmacy in Toowoomba on February 15 have located a man deceased at an address in Newtown.

Officers attended the address and located items at the scene which are directly linked to the armed robbery.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

The man threatened staff before fleeing the business with a sum of cash and a quantity of drugs.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20’s and having a slim build.

Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have seen this man running from Mylne Street towards Russell Street wearing a dark jumper, dark long pants and gloves.

It is believed the man changed clothes in Russell Street, wearing a blue singlet, long pants, socks and no shoes.

Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery at a chemist in Pacific Pines tonight.

At around 6.15pm a man entered the business on the corner of Pitcairn Way and Pacific Pines Boulevarde armed with a baseball bat.

The man swung the bat it a threatening manner before removing goods from the shelf and leaving the store.

The man then fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading into bushland near the scene.

The shop attendant was not physically injured during the incident.

Police would like to speak to the man pictured as he may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm tall, of a slim build with blonde hair.

Police have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a chemist in Mount Louisa on December 22, 2016.

It will be alleged around 1pm a man entered a business on Bayswater Road armed with a firearm and threatened staff before throwing a bag on the ground and demanding pharmaceutical drugs.

The staff complied and the man allegedly took the drugs and fled the scene in a vehicle driven by an unknown person.

The burnt out shell of the vehicle was later located by police on a track at the end of Bayswater Road.

It is alleged the same car was involved in two petrol drive-offs earlier in the day at service stations in Bohle and Yabulu and was displaying false Queensland registration plates.

A 40-year-old Mutarnee man has been charged with armed robbery, 3 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, 2 counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, stealing, wilful damage and deprivation of liberty.

He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court this morning.

Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a business in Sunnybank Hills this afternoon.

Initial information suggests that at around 12.30pm, a man entered the store on Beenleigh Road and produced a knife.

He made demands for cash and medication and when the female employee complied, the man fled the scene with the property.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

Investigations are continuing.

Townsville police are searching for a man who robbed a pharmacy at Kirwan this morning.

Around 10am the man entered the Thuringowa Drive business and approached a female staff member with a knife.

He demanded cash from the till and the employee complied.

The man then fled the scene with a sum of cash.

He is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 180cm tall with a slim build and was wearing a long sleeve shirt and dark shorts.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
