Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Bowen Hills café this afternoon.
Shortly before 1pm a man allegedly armed with a knife entered the O’Connell Terrace store demanding cash.
The man left the store without any money after the attendant failed to comply with his demands.
No one was injured during the incident.
Then man is described as Caucasian in appearance, having short light brown coloured hair and with a proportionate build. He was wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and brown trousers.
Police investigations are continuing.
Detectives from Carseldine Criminal Investigation Branch investigating the alleged robbery of a Boondall fast food outlet this evening have charged a 41-year-old Parkwood man with one count of armed robbery.
It will be alleged that a man entered the Sandgate Road business around 5.45pm and approached a store employee. The man intimated that he was armed and demanded cash.
He fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The 41-year-old man has been released on bail and is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on September 30.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a take-away sandwich store at Auburn last night.
About 7:25pm, Sunday 1 September 2013, two men were working in the store on Parramatta Road when a male entered the premises.
He ordered some food before trying to force his way behind the counter and threatening one of the men with a knife.
Both men ran from the store and called police while the armed man stole cash from the register.
Police from Flemington Local Area Command attended the scene within a few minutes, however the man had already fled the area.
Detectives are now investigating the robbery and are looking for a man who has been described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s, and with facial stubble.

Police have appealed to the community for assistance after the armed robbery of a restaurant at Port Macquarie this week.
About 9.10pm on Tuesday 27 August, two employees and two patrons were in a restaurant on Watonga Street.
A 21-year-old man was cleaning in the kitchen area when he was confronted by a man who had his face concealed and was armed with a knife.

About 7.20pm, employees noticed a man at the cash register. When the employees went to the man he produced a knife.
The man then fled the store empty handed. There were no injuries.

While one man kept watch, the other threatened the 25-year-old male staff member with a knife and demanded cash.

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery which occurred at the Yarralumla shops this morning (Thursday, August 15).
Around 6.30am a man wearing a balaclava entered the Beess & Co cafe and threatened staff members with a weapon.
